Re: new Bolt extended warranty a good idea or not?

Just got a Bolt Premier and decided to take the 10 year extended warranty. (We keep cars a long time -- just got rid of a 2001 Prius.) Cost $2,888 after the $1,000 COSTCO discount -- comes out to $24 a month. I've got 60 days to change my mind. Could do a lot with that $ in the meantime. What do yo...

Re: Nitrogen in the tires

I use helium, I had to add a couple of bags of Sakrete in the trunk to keep my Bolt from floating away.

Re: Winter Tires & Wheels

To GPS man's point, a torque wrench is a must so you can dial in the correct amount of torque. You could also use it to crack the nuts, then just use a socket bit for your drill to take them off. I wouldn’t recommend using a torque wrench to remove wheel lug nuts, a simple and cheap 1/2” breaker ba...

Re: What MPGe are you getting?

I started out getting the full 238+ with my Bolt but have had a noticeable loss of mileage lately. I seem to be getting 200 miles per charge and sometimes less. I fully charged (no Hilltop Reserve since I knew I would need a full charge) yesterday and, after a 197 mile trip limped home with (as bes...

Re: Winter, hilltop reserve, and battery conditioning

Keep in mind DRIVING it is the best way to warm up the battery. And that is FREE heat (normally waste heat). If you do not need full power in the first mile or two of your commute, I see no reason to waste grid power on heating the battery beyond the bare minimum to get you rolling in the morning. ...

Re: LT Options - what's worth it, what's not?

The heated seats and steering wheel are nice options. I especially like heated seats for my aging lower back, and the heated steering wheel works well. I have the Kinetic Blue color, which I got because it was the only car on the lot with the options I wanted: DCFC and heated seats. The Bolt’s styli...

Re: Why connect to Wifi?

It’s actually a solution to a problem some people face. I use it daily as I live in the mountains where there is zero cell service. Having the car connected to my home wifi allows me to use check charging status, precondition / remote start the car, etc. I stand corrected. Thanks for the explanation.

Re: Level 2 on the cheap

I’m confused by your post. What cable did you purchase from Amazon for $260? Did you buy an EVSE, or are you using the Level-1 cord that came with the Bolt? I'm guessing he meant he bought this EVSE: https://www.amazon.com/Maxx-16-Portable-Electric-Vehicle-mounting/dp/B01LFW1OK6/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&...

Re: Windshield not defogging properly

+1 on keeping the inside of the windshield as clean as possible to help prevent fogging. I’ve had no issues with the front defogger, even on very cold and rainy days. It works well for me.

Re: Why connect to Wifi?

I agree that this is a solution in search of a problem, I had no idea the Bolt can do this, and I also have no idea why anyone would want or need to do this.
