Re: EVSE Tax Credit for 2017

You can read the instructions for IRS form 8911. The credit is for "property," which probably doesn't mean installation costs.

Re: Any concerns with never fully charging battery

What about cell balancing. On another forum, a member collected data from their Juicebox EVSE that showed cell balancing happens when hill top reserve is on and the battery reaches its "full" charge. That would be the gentlest way for the battery to get it to balance the cells. can you pl...

Re: I'm shopping for an EV. What's next?

I think a lot of this talk about the I3 ignores the most important consideration: it's really ugly, even for an EV. Most hybrids/EVs are protests against taste in the styling department, but the I3 stands out as particularly hideous. To hear that the function (doors, etc) mostly matches the exterior...

Re: windshield wiper fluid not working

I have had lots of trouble with the rear washer. Maybe it gets dirty easily? So you have to pound on the washer button for a while or clean it mechanically to get it out. If that doesn't work, the fluid may be low. Apparently in my experience, fluid can come out the front but not the back if the res...

Re: Metallic Grinding Sound at Low Speed

I think if you are careful, you will find that it goes away at 15 and comes back at 14 mph. It is indeed the pedestrian warning signal.

If you are not sure, you can disconnect the pedestrian warning signal machine by the left wheelwell and see if it goes away.

Re: new Bolt extended warranty a good idea or not?

Another important consideration is the mileage limit. If the warranty is 10 years/50k miles, it's basically useless

Re: 120 volt charge cord included?

Mine also came with two cords, but apparently it was a factory option, because they wouldn't take it off the price, even though I didn't want it.

Now I have two of them. :|

Re: LT Options - what's worth it, what's not?

I think the driver confidence stuff is not really worth it. The blind spot monitors work fine, but you still have to move your head to be safe. The "rear park assist" is way too sensitive -- it beeps very loudly when you are not that close to anything. The rear cross-traffic alert only rea...
