Re: Trick for opening armrest storage?

You can open the latch with your finger when the lid is forward by pressing on the "button" part of the latch mechanism that would be pressed by the button on the lid. However, I think it would be easier to press the lid back and open it, since that specific part of the mechanism can be di...

Re: 2017 Vehicle Credit?

30% Tax Credit for the purchase price and installation (Form 8911). Do you have a reference for the "installation" part? The instructions for the form only refer to "property" which to me wouldn't include installation costs, except maybe wires etc., but what do I know? I'm not a...

Re: EVSE Tax Credit for 2017

You can read the instructions for IRS form 8911. The credit is for "property," which probably doesn't mean installation costs.

Re: Any concerns with never fully charging battery

What about cell balancing. On another forum, a member collected data from their Juicebox EVSE that showed cell balancing happens when hill top reserve is on and the battery reaches its "full" charge. That would be the gentlest way for the battery to get it to balance the cells. can you pl...

Re: I'm shopping for an EV. What's next?

I think a lot of this talk about the I3 ignores the most important consideration: it's really ugly, even for an EV. Most hybrids/EVs are protests against taste in the styling department, but the I3 stands out as particularly hideous. To hear that the function (doors, etc) mostly matches the exterior...

Re: windshield wiper fluid not working

I have had lots of trouble with the rear washer. Maybe it gets dirty easily? So you have to pound on the washer button for a while or clean it mechanically to get it out. If that doesn't work, the fluid may be low. Apparently in my experience, fluid can come out the front but not the back if the res...

Re: Metallic Grinding Sound at Low Speed

I think if you are careful, you will find that it goes away at 15 and comes back at 14 mph. It is indeed the pedestrian warning signal.

If you are not sure, you can disconnect the pedestrian warning signal machine by the left wheelwell and see if it goes away.
