Re: Electronics Failure?

PV1 wrote:Yes. You’ll need to hold both down until the radio reboots. Takes about 10 seconds, IIRC. Haven’t had to do mine in a while.

Glad it’s working now.

Thanks again. I held the 2 buttons down for 10 seconds and that reset the screen, now everything is working as it should.

Re: Electronics Failure?

Try the radio first. Usually, letting the car charge gives the radio enough time to fully shut down, and that might be enough without rebooting it. Usually, my radio will hang at a black screen when I desperately need heat or A/C, which of course is problematic as these are controlled by the radio....

Re: Electronics Failure?

PV1 wrote:Sounds like everything wrong was just the center interface? You could try rebooting the radio by holding the next and home buttons until the Bolt EV screen appears. This has fixed most issues for me.

Great, thanks. I will definitely try that when its done charging..

Electronics Failure?

I turned on the 2017 Bolt this afternoon and suddenly numerous electronic functions became either inoperable or extremely sluggish. the home screen button would take 5 or 10 seconds to revert back to the home screen. The cameras icon was blanked out, even when stopped and the phone function buttons ...

Bolt Mileage

When I bought a Honda Civic Hybrid in 2005, the manufacturer said the car would get up to 50 mpg on the freeway and 45 on city streets. This was a gross inflation of the actual performance, which was about 30 mpg in the city and about 40, max, on the highway. People sued Honda, there was a class-act...

If This Happens To Your Chevy Bolt...

When I turned on the Bolt (2017) this morning, all the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel would not work, I could not check tire pressure. Also, the Lane Keep Assist button on the left side of the steering wheel would not work either. I think it may have had something to do with some ve...

Re: Proxmity Sensor on Rear Bumper

My 2¢: If this is no fault of your own, let the dealer take care of it. If you monkey around with it, and there's a future problem surrounding this that you can't handle, they might be happy to reject a warranty claim. I completely understand wanting to fix minor things that you are capable of doin...

Proxmity Sensor on Rear Bumper

Hi! The rear bumper of the Bolt has 3 proximity sensors, each sensor is surrounded by a plastic seal. One of the seals has come loose, I still have it and am wondering what kind of glue I can use to secure it. It pops into the edge of the round sensor, but needs some kind of adhesive to be secure. I...

Re: Battery Charge Capacity

For over a year I've been charging the 2017 Bolt in the garage using a level 2 240v charger. After a full charge, the mileage shows (approximately) max = 285 miles, average = 250 miles. The last two full charges using the same charger and settings, the max was only 245 and the average was 220 or le...
