Re: Really Flaky USB connection

Next thing i will try out is a powered usb hub. I hear that often times the power output from these is questionable. Maybe if i take power out of the equation it will help with the connectivity. Though i cant imagine a flash drive takes much power, especially a usb 2.0.

Re: Really Flaky USB connection

I am fine with not charging the phone fast. I have a 12v adapter for that. I am mostly annoyed that my usb drive doesn't get recognized constantly by the car. I even have times where its playing a song off it and it suddenly stops and doesnt recognize it suddenly.

Re: Really Flaky USB connection

Sounds like that port isn't putting out a full 5v and your drive isn't getting quite enough power, which your phone also indicates. Which port are you using? My USB tester shows 5.15v on all four ports on my 2017 Premier. There are 4 ports? I have only found 2 and they are in the center console and...

Really Flaky USB connection

I have a USB drive that i store a lot of my music on. It works fine on virtually everything i plug it into to listen to this music, which includes past cars like my 2010 honda insight. Connecting it into my bolt however is really hit or miss and mostly miss. Is there an update to the usb connections...

Re: Bolt convenience question

The Bolt's app uses the cellular system, so the "range" is essentially unlimited. It does have to be set up for your car; my salesman did that for me. It does NOT react instantly, the delay is apparently dependent on the cellular system. You do not need to be subscribed ot OnStar for the ...

Re: Off grid charging my 2020 Bolt

Pretty cool to see someone else that uses veggie oil for fuel. I did that for a while years ago when i had a 01 vw jetta tdi.

Re: Should i be concerned with battery degradation?

Anyway, I now have a level 2 setup to charge the car fully overnight ( or to 90ish percent ) but the range estimator on my car never is above 180. Should i look into having a dealership examine the battery on this or is this normal ish range for the car? I also have not driven the car until the bat...

Re: Should i be concerned with battery degradation?

80 miles should be no problem. However, are you taking that trip in the winter or just the summer? Do you have an outlet to plug into when you arrive? If this is a winter trip with nowhere to charge at your destination, make sure there are public chargers somewhere along your route. It will be in t...

Re: Should i be concerned with battery degradation?

Thank you guys for the input. I had hoped the range to be a bit more honestly but it sounds like the car is doing pretty good for winter conditions and such. Thankfully my commute to work is actually the longest drive I typically do and there is plenty of range for that. The family vacation might be...

Re: Should i be concerned with battery degradation?

So I assume this sort of range under these conditions is normal. I had hoped it would still be closer to 200 miles for range. But from what I understand this software fix for the battery is temporary so I guess that might change things at some point.
