Drive range questions

I recently watched a very cool you tube video from Weber Sate University called a deep dive into chevy bolt drive unit. One of things I was curious about that was not covered is what happens in L range and R range. I have a theory that reverse is accomplished in the single power 3 phase inverter whe...

Re: service brake life

Good points all. Yes I earlier posted a question regarding using the regen paddle on the steering wheel regarding the brake light coming on. I did get a reply that the brake light will light up during the slowing process but at a stop will not light. This is the other reason to keep your foot on the...

Charger Efficiency

Took delivery of 2017 Chevy Bolt Premier with regular charger provided with car. The car had 34 miles on it at delivery and I believe the dealer had never charged as it was at about 60% when we picked it up on Aug 3. We gave it a full charge and now have 382 miles on it with an average of 3.8 miles/...

Regen braking using steering wheel paddle

Have a 2017 Premier Bolt. Discovered that regen braking using the paddle on the left side of the steering wheel works great for stopping the car but wonder if it alerts drivers behind that we are braking by lighting the brake lights. Tried it by looking at a reflection from a vehicle behind while at...

DC fast charger

I recently visited the local dealer and found a model that is loaded. The only option lacking is the DC fast charger plug. I asked the dealer if this is an upgrade that can be added later but they could not answer so I thought I would ask here. So that is my first question and the next is given we w...
