Re: Vehicle software update

I also updated successfully to 14.4.2 over the weekend. It was simple. The update process looks 'slick'. I could not find any functional difference (CarPlay/iPhone user). I have not experienced any issues until now, so it could be that this software is more stable than the previous versions. I had C...

Re: Bumpy Ride - Stiff Suspension

Coming back to the OP's point: I agree that the Bolt's ride is harsh and very bumpy. It is one of the few gripes I have about the Bolt after 4 months of ownership. Especially on the crappy Silicon Valley roads and highways the I feel like I'm constantly tossed around in 3 dimensions, but mainly left...

Re: 3 weeks in, My review

What I like: ... What bothers me a bit: While the handling is nice, one does feel the road bumps more. I suppose the nature of a small car, but maybe those low profile tires? A simple fix for the Bolt seats: foam-o-suction

The main problem of the seats in the Bolt is that they are narrow at the bottom. The seat bottoms have huge 'love handles' that are compressing even average-sized butts. Chevy simply put too much padding on the sides. The good news is that there is an easy fix for this design flaw: ' foam-of-suction...

Re: Howto: Adding more padding to front seats

Instead of adding foam, I ripped out foam from the side skirts of the seat bottom. That makes the seat bottom wider and flatter. It is easy to do and quick: just unclip the sides and poke in a finger to start ripping foam. After this this 'foam-o-suction' the seat is actually quite comfortable, beca...

Weird Software bug with FM favorites

The Bolt is a big upgrade over my 5 year old Volt. Everything works pretty good. The infotainment screen is large and very responsive. IOty is way better than the one in $80K Mercedes or BMWs. But I encountered some one odd problem: The FM preset 104.9 Mhz does not stick in teh favorite list, no mat...
