Re: Need help I cannot charge it at home with my 120-volt portable charge cord

- According to the owner's manual .. A solid Red indicator light on the charge cord means: "Electrical System Fault: The charge cord has detected a missing or improper ground within the building's electrical system. Do not use an electrical outlet that is not properly grounded. Use another elec...

Re: experience with lease return process?

I avoided the last payment on my previous lease by doing the GM 'pull ahead' program. Returned my '17 Bolt LT, 'grounding' the lease and got a screaming deal on a new '20 Bolt Premier lease. $5,255 out-the-door (incl all tax, lic, fees) +$168/mo... It was a very easy process. Minus California grants...

Re: Dead Car, Dead 12V Battery

I've noticed that the my 2017 Bolt will notify the driver when the key fob battery is low but I haven't seen anything like that for the 12V system battery .. -- I believe there is a way to monitor 12V battery state of charge (voltage) .. use an OBD-II bluetooth device and a smart phone .. with thank...

Nissan presented it's 'L2H' system years ago which seems to have been left to languish for now ..

Re: why drive in D even on interstate?

I drive in 'L' 80% of the time. In stop & go city traffic or in moderate to high traffic volumes on the highway strong regen lets me adjust my speed easily without ever touching the brake pedal. I'm totally hooked on the fact that 'L' takes the car to a complete stop via 'one pedal driving' on i...

Re: Has anyone driven a Bolt S.F. Bay Area to Tahoe or Yosemite yet?

I drove my 2017 Bolt to Squaw Valley Resort last summer. My total cost for fuel (electricity) was $0.00 .. I DCFCed 1 mile from my home for free to 90% and drove past Sacramento, CA. Since I didn't think I had enough range to overcome the losses of climbing the mountain to Tahoe I DCFCed at an EVgo ...

Re: New to EVs, buying a used Bolt in a few months. Which accessories / equipment do I need?

DCFC availability is WAY better than it was 5+ years ago and improving significantly even in more remote locations. In my case (Norcal) there are several locations where I can DCFC for free. The California state government sponsors a program providing this benefit through local energy providers. The...

Re: New to EVs, buying a used Bolt in a few months. Which accessories / equipment do I need?

For me the DCFC capability is important in that it potentially eliminates having to compromise and use an ICE car (owned or rented) for longer trips, or when colder temperatures, lower efficiencies become an issue. For most of us the main point of driving an EV is to eliminate that 'carbon debt', ie...
