Re: Chevrolet announces update to all 2017-2019 Bolts with fast charging

I just tried an Electrify America 350Kw charger yesterday in Mojave and was disappointed to see a 34Kw charging rate on the dashboard when EVGo gives me 45! I've had the exact same issue with EA chargers in the SF Bay Area. The Bolt manual states our car will DCFC at "up to 75kW".. AJ Hav...

Re: How much will my battery degrade after two years of charging to 100% almost every night?

Back on the question of 100% versus something less. I have had my Bolt for two years and always use HTR except when I am leaving the next day for a long trip. Yesterday I was in MD and did a 100% charge in the early afternoon so I could get home. As I was pulling out from the hotel something happene...

Re: Electrify America rolls out new app and prices

I just wrote up a status report on the rollout of California sites versus the rest of the country. https://electricrevs.com/2019/06/13/with-over-200-sites-open-electrify-america-lags-behind-in-california/ Forgive those of us outside California if we laugh at this. In most parts of the country outsi...

Re: Do not use EVgo fast chargers. No, seriously. Just don't.

We travel between Raleigh and DC occasionally and I wish EVgo would install some chargers around Richmond. The Richmond market has about 10 DCFC, two are Chevy dealers (with about 20kwh capacity) and the rest are Greenlots, of the eight Greenlots, one is working. The others have been broken forever....

Re: Saw new recall on mychevrolet today

Just had them both done today less than 90 minutes door to car. All looks good except the loss of kw as others have stated that should pass. That loss of kw threw me for a loop. When I got the car back it showed it was fully charged so I figured they must have plunged it in while doing the service....

Re: Ultra-Fast-charging just around the corner ???

I have to wonder how today’s batteries would handle this high level charging. Can they cool the batteries enough? I also wonder about the impact on longevity.

Re: Do not use EVgo fast chargers. No, seriously. Just don't.

Your right, those more powerful chargers will be a game changer for long distance traveling. In my mind, right now long distance traveling, while possible is not really the niche for current EV’s. I have had my Bolt five months and outside of a trial run with EVgo (to make sure it worked), I have ye...

Ideally it should display the time limit on the charging screen when you are charging, I have only used it once and can’t recall if it said anything. I actually charged for 50 minutes but was only charged for 31.

Re: Do not use EVgo fast chargers. No, seriously. Just don't.

Don’t think it’s fair to blame evgo if you show up at the station with no card or no clue how they work (I.e. 30 minutes). I don't know of anywhere that this 30 minute thing is publicized except through posts on the car forums, so I can forgive people for getting caught by surprise by it. It’s on t...
