Anyone else receive a “4th of July Lease Termination Event” letter from a dealer?

Seems like a good offer: Buy a new 2019 Bolt EV, return existing leased Bolt EV with no further financial obligation

I am researching and considering this offer as an alternative to buying my lease.

Did anyone else get one of these “July 4th - turn in your lease” letters?

Re: So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

I am hoping that prices will be around $10-12k. The only used Bolt EVs you are going to find at that price range, if at all, in the upcoming 12 months are going to be those used for Lyft/Uber driving with 100K+ miles on them He and I discussed it and agreed the REx option on the BMW sort of negated...

What is REx option?

Please explain this sentence.

Re: How common is it to charge 300 miles?

So, to preserve the life of my battery, I should not charge 100% all the time. I have read on the Tesla 3, to do something like a 10%-90% range??? I almost bought a Tesla 3... the 35K model. Thanks. I heard two things about the Model 3: 1) it is the $65,000 model, stripped down to $35,000; and 2) T...

Re: Can I leave my AC on for Dog while shopping?

I leave my Bolt EV "on" with the doors locked (radio muted, lights off, and climate off) when I go eat and want to charge my iPhone. I find that it shuts itself off after a period of time; maybe 20 minutes. It used to unlock the doors at that point, but that seems to have been fixed with u...

Re: So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

Personally, I plan on buying used - it is generally a much better deal. I bought a used Spark EV for my wife to drive (I originally leased a different one for $89/mo and we both loved it) - it cost me $8500 for a 3-year-old vehicle that originally cost $28k). It is a fantastic "around the area...

Re: So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

The lease gave me the flexibility to walk away from the Volt, free and clear, and obtain the Bolt EV a little over 3 months later. I wanted the similar flexibility to gain the “state of the art” for the next BEV in January 2020. . . . HOwever, it appears that the Bolt EV was: (a) ahead of the curve...

Re: So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

Since the net cost is the same and you are buying the car at the end of the lease, what was the advantage of leasing versus purchasing? jack vines Leaving aside whatever tax benefits there are from leasing (which were not important to me), let me give you the example of my 2013-2016 Chevy Volt leas...
