Re: So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

Since the net cost is the same and you are buying the car at the end of the lease, what was the advantage of leasing versus purchasing? jack vines Leaving aside whatever tax benefits there are from leasing (which were not important to me), let me give you the example of my 2013-2016 Chevy Volt leas...

Re: San Gabriel Valley to Las Vegas by Bolt EV

As posted on this forum pne year ago, I made a similar trip to Las Vegas from the San Fernando Valley (just west of Burbank) and recharged in Victorville both times. My differences: I used air conditioning and my radio. To Vegas: I drove inthe right lane mostly behind trucks at cruise control of 60 ...

Re: So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

When I buy out my Bolt EV at the end of my lease in January for the residual, I will have paid approx the full MSRP that was offered to me at the time I first acquired it. And the lease company will get the benefit of the federal tax credit, which was of no value to me at that time anyway. Waiving a...

Re: So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

Buy a NEW 2019 Bolt EV for $26K less tax incentives!?! What am I missing here? The $26k might be a unicorn, but I've seen a claim somewhere that some dealer in CA was offering that. I can't find it now, but did find this that showed a dealer offering $29k for a new one, including one that appears t...

Maybe T-Mobile is degraded in my garage. Here are the results from my living room for T-Mobile:

BoltyMcBoltFace wrote:Or buy instead of lease - a new 2019 at 26k would certainly beat a used 2017 at 25k in my book. Also consider any state and local incentives you'd get on a new one that you wouldn't get buying out your lease.

Re: Do you have 4G? - Need some data please

I have thought my Onstar WiFi was malfunctioning, especially now that I have returned to driving Uber again, and had Chevy repair look at it last week. They claimed it tested out perfectly and would not swap out the board, as another poster on this forum reported had done for him. I then downloaded ...

Re: So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

Not sure whether you are implicating me in that. I take issue with the lack of built in nav too. First, it was promised to us. Second, there are plenty of trips I take into the mountains where there is no cell service and it can be easy to get lost. Nice to see a sympathetic voice and someone else ...

Re: So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

FWIW, while I have no issue with the seats, I've never claimed that noone does. Comfort is subjective. Clearly the Bolt's seats offend more people than a typical car. A Buick version would likely be more comfortable. And even the Bolt could see newer seats as part of a mid-cycle refresh. I have had...

Re: 4G Hotspot poor performance/radio reception

My OnStar WiFi continues to be poor when I need it the most: Delivering an Uber passenger to a location in the hills. This time, I turned off my iPhone WiFi and my T-Mobile data was still working. I received another “restart” from the OnStar rep but I cannot tell if it improved the service once I re...
