Re: Safety issues

I would think that "big, red lights on the back of the vehicle as a "WAKE UP MORON - I AM STOPPED" sign." can only help. People run into the back of buses and semitrailers stopped with their brake lights on. If you don't even notice the car itself, the brake lights may not help ...

Re: Teslas charged w/diesel generators

When 'our' Chevy Bolts are selling at less than 2000/month, I don't see where Tesla is going to sell 5000/week, which I believe is the production rate. Now that the Tesla fanbois have their m3s, I don't have a good feeling about the company, and I really do want them to succeed. I'm a little skepti...

Re: Teslas charged w/diesel generators

This is just sad: https://twitter.com/PlainSite/status/1103387830733045761 This seems like a pretty special use case to me, it's not something that I'd knot my knickers over. I have no doubt that it would be cheaper for the dealership to use grid power if it was available, so they're probably only ...

Serious though, in some places, this is what you're competing with.

If this was literally true, then the entire new car industry would be kaput, at least until all the old cars died.

Re: Software update for the battery

If you're talking about the upgrade that was first released several months ago, I had it applied to my 2017 Bolt without any problems. It does reset some of the information used to calculate range, which can result in inaccurate range estimates until you've gone through a couple of charge cycles. Bu...

Re: Cruise control Problems

I've never had any issues with the cruise control on my 2017 Bolt. I can't imagine why lighting conditions would affect it, because as far as I know the system has nothing to do with the cameras.

Instead of "Hilltop Reserve" it has a slider that lets you choose to charge the battery to anywhere from something like 60% to 100% in, I believe, 10% increments.

Pigwich wrote:EVs are CRAZY expensive up front and they're REALLY SMALL CARS compared to the average 90's Explorer, and you really have to charge them every night.

The EVs with a couple of hundred miles of range don't need to be charged every night unless you're commuting a lot farther than the average driver.

Not if you used "Hilltop Reserve" mode or the option on 2019 models to charge to less than 100% when you charged the battery.

Re: Time lapse video charging at up to 55 kW

You, too, should all be able to pay through the nose to DCFC at 150A, via an EA station coming soon near you to rip you off !! I’d rather pay $10 and comfortably make it to my destination than hypermile 10MPH under the speed limit with heat off in subzero temps just to make it home with less than 4...
