Re: Heat On While Fast Charging?

Is there a way to have the cabin heat run while fast charging? Absolutely, just don't turn the car off. You can charge, start charging, or end charging with the car turned on. And you can turn the car on or off while charging. So just have the car turned on with the HVAC running while you're plugge...

I was using it as an example of how an automaker can equip cars differently for different markets, that's all.

Re: Electrify America's DCFC Stations Favor CCS Charging Standard

The writing is on the wall for CHAdeMO in North America. The Asian manufacturers should equip cars for the North American market with CCS charging ports. There's no technical reason that they can't do this, just as the European manufacturers equip their cars with CCS Type 1 or Type 2 ports dependin...

If you bought a used Bolt it doesn't matter whether it's the default or not - what matters is how the previous owner left it set.

Re: chargers and charging habits

I can't speak for chargers intended to be mounted on the wall, but Tesla makes what is IMHO the best portable charger - it accepts interchangeable AC plugs and adjusts the charge rate it advertises based on the plug type. You need to buy a Tesla-to-J1772 adapter to use it, though, and that makes it...

Re: chargers and charging habits

1. Do there exist any level 2 chargers, other than JuiceBox and OpenEVSE, that allow the amperage to be adjusted? Re: What about a elec heating pad on dash?

I was thinking of using a heating pad for a constant low heat source to clear the windshield of the light haze while I was driving in mild temperatures. Thanks. I have a feeling it would cause more issues because the heated air near the pad can hold more moisture which would then condense out on th...

Re: Transformer Installed at EA's Bakersfield Station

As feared if any CHAdeMO car came by they would have to wait for her to finish on the CCS plug because they couldn't use the CCS unit 4 that I was leaving. This reminds me that good charging etiquette at a station equipped with multiple chargers but only one with CHAdeMO would be to avoid using the...
