Re: DCQC charging rates

Most ChargePoint DCFC that are floor standing models (not pole mounted) are “rated” at 50 kw and tend to shove 44kw to 47kw into the Bolt. The newest Chargepoint DCFC is “rated” at 62.5 kw (I hear it is capable of more but software limited to 62.5 kw). It will shove about 55kw into the Bolt. The Bo...

Re: Pigtail for Bolt

My lease just ended on my 2017 Volt. I used a pigtail to connect the charging cable to 220v. Buying a new Bolt today. Can I use the same pigtail to plug in the one that comes with the Bolt? Is it okay to routinely charge to full or should I only go 80 or 90%? Thank you. The EVSE delivered with the ...

Re: Cold Weather Issues

I've read a few posts about ice building up on the windshield wipers (while driving!!) because there's no engine heat to melt it. I don't live in a very cold climate so I haven't personally experienced it. 1) use defroster + heater BEFORE YOU LEAVE (while still plugged in) to warm the windshield. (...

Re: So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

Why buy at lease end (my residual is $25k+) when you can buy a brand new one for under $30k and get the full tax credit right now? There are actually quite a few dealerships in the greater San Jose area that are offering about $8000 of MSRP recently. They are the base model, with DCFC, and about no...

Re: So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

If you live in CA you must own/drive the vehicle for a certain amount of time to get the rebate. (It used to be 30 months.) If you sell/return the car before that time, you have to tell CARB and give the rebate back. Now, if you didn't know that you could get the CA rebate for a lease, so you didn't...

Re: Do not use EVgo fast chargers. No, seriously. Just don't.

Hi! We expect all ChargePoint DCFC stations on I-5 to be active by October 2018! We shared that news in our main thread, however, I am not able to share any further updates at this time. :) Here's that post here in the forum: http://www.mychevybolt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=31400#p31400 October 201...

Re: Time lapse video charging at up to 55 kW

You, too, should all be able to pay through the nose to DCFC at 150A, via an EA station coming soon near you to rip you off !! I’d rather pay $10 and comfortably make it to my destination than hypermile 10MPH under the speed limit with heat off in subzero temps just to make it home with l...

So you bought a map option for less than Chevy would have offered it (if they offered it at the same price as the Volt nav), which can be carried with you into any car you want, with free map upgrades.
