Re: Ultra-Fast-charging just around the corner ???

EXCELLENT! Thank you. I had gone to youtube to try and find videos of people charging (like the Tesla owner who tried to supercharge when it was -20 outside). No joy. So it looks like 150A (~55 kW) max, AND it drops down to around 37 kW (?95A?) at a lower SoC (closer to 50% than 55%) when charging ...

My 2005 Prius came with a Homelink compatible rear view mirror. My 2012 Plug-in Prius base model didn’t have one. In order get a homelink compatible mirror, I would’ve had to upgrade to the Advanced model which was $8000 more (~$40K versus ~$32K).while I would have gotten some additional desired fea...

Can you point me at a source for the max ~55 kW charge rates in the frigid, European north? Sure: https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=no&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Felbilforum.no%2Fforum%2Findex.php%2Ftopic%2C31392.0.html%3FPHPSESSID%3Dafh05imvbl3olvts0tn3bo47c2&sandbox=1 Go t...

Re: Ultra-Fast-charging just around the corner ???

The thing you plug into the vehicle to charge it tells the car what it can provide (current, voltage). The car then decides how much to pull. For example, plugging a 32Amp/240V EVSE into a PHEV that will pull a max of 3.3 kW : car pulls 3.3 kW (max). Plugging a 16A/240V EVSE into a Bolt? The Bolt p...

Re: "Auto" HVAC questions

When you the car set to Auto, all you can do is select a temperature. The car then decides how to adjust the fan speed, heat/AC on or off, vent mode, and recirc mode, to achieve that desired temperature. Typically if you are trying to rapidly cool down the interior of a car, you want recirc on. If i...

Re: Bolt roof blocking garage door opener signal.

I have no trouble with the remote clipped to my visor. Works from a distance, and works closeup. A while ago I had a problem with another car and remote, but it turned out to be a problem with the LED lightbulbs that I had installed in the openers. Apparently they had really noisy power supplies tha...

Re: Optimum garage temperature for your EV

We park our Bolt in the driveway, outside. Overnight temps during the winter are typically in the mid to upper 40’s, though we do get a few trips to the mid to lower 30’s. I leave the car plugged in at night.

Re: Towed To Dealer after 2 weeks 351 miles

Wow. I'm not sure I would have bought another Chevy product after that, but I assume they didn't charge and compensated you for what was clearly poor workmanship at the factory. Yes, the new truck had issues but it never failed to start, never left me stranded, I was never told to find a way home a...

Re: Towed To Dealer after 2 weeks 351 miles

I had owned it about 3 weeks when we got a slow steady rain for several days and the truck had been sitting since I was driving the 2013 Volt. When I did go to use it I was immediately taken back by a significant smell of musty dampness. I had a passenger side floor board full of water. Nearly two ...
