30k review

I purchased my Bolt LT in January of 2017 and have put just a hair under 30k miles on it. Other than having to replace the main info unit under warranty (I'll get to that issue momentarily) I have encountered zero maintenance issues other than replacing a set of tires with the OEM Michelins. My life...

Cleantechnica review by Model S owner

https://cleantechnica.com/2017/05/18/24-hours-with-the-2017-chevy-bolt/ Very evenhanded review of a car I own by an owner of a car I personally respect. I like the part where the author states that the Bolt "is a ton of fun to drive and that same 266 foot-pounds of torque all ready and waiting ...

Re: 2k mile update - still loving it

Just hit lifetime of 4.3 miles per kW. Zero regrets. In other posts and threads here I expressed many of the same conclusions drawn by the author of the following review, who happens to drive a Model S, in particular the composed ride, the snappy acceleration, and the squirrelly handling upon WOT. h...

Re: 2k mile update - still loving it

San Diego. No trips longer than 50 miles so far. All my charging has been a lazy 110V at either 8 or, at work, 12 amps. Sorry for the delayed reply. Boards are slow and I only check in infrequently now. My gut tells me that at 80 mph my range would be around 150 miles. I've done a bunch of trips at ...

2k mile update - still loving it

Zero regrets or complaints. Completed JD Powers survey this week claiming neither defects nor anything other than complete satisfaction. Lifetime efficiency is 4.2 miles/kW, e.g. 252 miles per full charge. Cannot recall what I claimed before and too lazy to look, but I'd say that 10% of my driving i...

Re: How many actual Bolt owners on this forum?

Dang. Didn't see this til now. 37 counting me. Arctic Blue LT. Both major options packages, DC fast charger, extra trunk (and too dang lazy to look up all the codes). Got about 1500 miles on it now and remain thrilled. Gives me a smile every time I get into it. If photo loads mine is the Bolt.

Re: 1000 mile owner mini-review

It is true - I do like to drive my cars hard. However as stated here and elsewhere, I have exactly one ticket in my entire life and have never caused or been at fault in an accident, although I did get t-boned once by a guy running a light. What I am is a guy who likes to drive quickly and chuck his...

Thanks! I try to be as rational and even-handed as possible and the high road is indeed the right road to take.

Re: 1000 mile owner mini-review

I like to think that the greatest way to speak is to take careful note of what is opinion and what is fact. I drive ALL my cars from time to time at or over one or more of their engineered limits on public streets. My user ID on Bimmerfest is 'gonofuther' so for those calling 'BS' please feel free t...

Re: 1000 mile owner mini-review

For full power applications the car could use braking vector or a limited slip dif. It has enough power that with the low adherence tires (low rolling resistance means less friction) you really have to have both hands on the wheel and keep your wits about you when you nail it, particularly when turn...
