Re: Bose Question

For cars, sure you can throw tons of money and get something a lot better aftermarket. But in the tiny environment of a Bolt, standing waves become such an issue there is a hard limit to ultimate audio quality. It amuses me to hear audiophiles discussing the finer points of car stereo systems where...

Re: Bose Question

I've been saying it for 30 years so I might as well say it again ... "BOSE SUCKS!" I said that mostly in regards to home theater systems. In homes you can usually afford the space to get a decent sized speakers so the need to go with tiny satellite speakers and one sub is nill. Unless you...

Re: Bose Sound Quality

Sirius streams at 64 Kbps and up. Pandora, at your choice of 150 or 300. Apple (iTunes) at 256. Google Play, 320. Amazon Music Unlimited, 256 average up to 500. Spotify, your choice of 96, 160 or 320. Low bitrate sounds bad. And, direct wired connection sounds better than Bluetooth. Totally agree, ...

Re: Bose Sound Quality

The point is, if audio quality is important, ditch Sirius/XM. It will sound terrible on the best sound system in the world. I'm not an audiophile, but I DO have a certain sensitivity to tinny music - it bothers me. After adjusting my Bose/XM system via the system's audio menu I find it quite accept...

Re: Bose Sound Quality

The problem isn't with your Bose system. You're usage of a USB stick playing songs you recorded should prove that. The issue is entirely with Sirius/XM. When those satellite services first started, the audio quality was more than acceptable. Between mergers and attempts to jam their limited bandwidt...

Re: Interior Options for LT and Premiere

If it is still likely a tax "reform" bill will pass, or it has passed by the last week in December I'll have to lease a Bolt. If it seems unlikely, I'll wait for a 2018 Leaf. And if I judge wrong and the credit gets killed before the Leaf is available in February, I'll probably look for a...

Re: Interior Options for LT and Premiere

To be fair, you are assuming your tastes are the same as a wide range of people. No, I'm just assuming that most people don't prefer small, uncomfortable seats, and that most would like to choose whether or not the interiors have bright white trim pieces in the driver's field of view. I really don'...

Most likely a dead 12v battery.

Re: Why connect to Wifi?

OK, so I'm not talking about the car's WiFi hot spot. It's obvious to me that the hotspot requires an OnStar subscription because it relies on the car's ability to transmit and receive data via the cellular network, and it's the OnStar subscription that pays for the cellular service. This is not ac...
