Re: CT - Lease advice appreciated

359 plus tax is too high for an LT, that's true. Keep shopping. We paid 350 including tax for a Premier with options, 15K miles, zero down, zero driveaway. Thank you for that reply. Which state did you lease the Premier with options for $350, zero down, zero drive-off, 15k miles? But a Bolt is goin...

But a Bolt is going to be more than a Leaf because they are not the same class of car. A 2016 Leaf is obsolete by comparison, they can barely gi...

Re: Do not use EVgo fast chargers. No, seriously. Just don't.

I used one yesterday...in Palm Springs, California. I live about 140 miles from there and spent the weekend. I needed some juice to get home. I arrived with about 90 miles range remaining. Could not have been easier. I tapped my EVGO card and it charged 99 Amps at 360 V for 30 minutes. Added plenty ...

Re: "Full" battery levels dropping daily

That is normal for cold Winter weather, with normal heater usage. I was surprised at how much of the range reduction is due to the heater and not due to the effect of the cold on the battery. It's been close to freezing here in Vancouver for quite some time now, and with the heater set to a comfort...

Re: "Full" battery levels dropping daily

I have said in the past that the basic rule of thumb for EVs is to cut the EPA range in half, and that's the "I don't need to think about it, even in cold weather, even with several years of battery fade, I can go that far" range. So for a Bolt, that's about 120 miles, in Massachusetts win...

Re: Do not use EVgo fast chargers. No, seriously. Just don't.

It's not about topping off, it's about getting enough charge to get to the next charger. There is no one-size-fits-all solution I guess. We really need much better infrastructure. Exactly. And in my opinion is more important to get two people 80 miles than to get one person 160. If nobody else is w...

Re: Do not use EVgo fast chargers. No, seriously. Just don't.

30 Minute rule was still in effect a few weeks back in Los Angeles and I fully support it. I needed some charge to get on my way and it made no sense for me to need to wait for some guy to top off. And what if there had been someone already in line? Or two? If you cannot depend on reasonably quick a...

Re: "Full" battery levels dropping daily

It is a bit more complicated regarding using a heat pump, as desiv pointed out most heat pumps are ineffective at very cold temps, the efficiency of a heat pump falls off as the heat load increases with colder temps. In addition, you need to defog the windows. In the bolt you can run the AC cycle t...

Re: "Full" battery levels dropping daily

Maybe I'm just a nervous newbie (I've had the car less than a month, 874 miles), but I'm not feeling great about my range right now. After a reasonably cold week (but certainly not unusual in New York), my fully charged range is nowshowing 152 miles. I have a 52 mile (roundtrip) commute every day, ...

Re: "Full" battery levels dropping daily

When the Bolt was firest announced, I was critical of the fact that it has a cheesey resistive heater rather than a heat pump. It should have provided a heat pump, at least as an available option, to mitigate just this situation.
