https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/cto/d/baldwin-park-1997-chevy-astro-van/6815072520.html Serious though, in some places, this is what you're competing with. Smog ready, $1200, clean title, SEVEN PASSENGER. All's I'm saying is look at it from the perspective of somebody who's not the liberal eli...

Re: Any Boyle Heights / East Los Angeles EV drivers out there?

I actually heard that some of the pushback against EVs there is because there's a huge pushback against hipsters and their art galleries and coffee shops taking over the neighborhood... and residents associate EVs with hipsters, especially rich white ones. I'm hoping that hearing from people like t...

Re: So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

So in regards to "dickering" with the finance company, I'd like to know if anybody has historically had any success on this front. I asked when my Spark EV lease was up and they told me immediately that there was absolutely no negotiating whatsoever and that I could either turn it in or pa...

Re: So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

From these forums we learned that the technology is changing so fast that it made sense to lease. Also, as a US resident with a low income, the federal subsidies were useless to us, so leasing became the best strategy. . . . We got a hell of a deal on our lease ($250 USD/mo total) so it's unlikely ...

The bus bars in the Bolt battery already handle 400A at least for awhile since the pack output is rated for a peak of 160 kW (400A @ 400V or something like that). Yeah.... true, I would wager that that isn't a "continuous" power rating but probably something a lot closer to a 1 minute rat...

This covers everything. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combined_Charging_System CCS1 does 200 amps, CCS2 does 500 amps, how they balance the voltage out in that equation will be entirely up to the power supply designer, they'll either max out at a number of amps, or a max grand total power. Also, doe...

So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

So here's the big question... The tax credit is gone, so the price on used Bolts will probably skyrocket when this first round of leases turns in. I'm happy with my car, but I'd sure like faster fast charging, which will probably be a thing in 2020 - Is everybody planning on buying Kias or Hyundais?...

Re: OTA Bolt EV software update through OnStar

Yeah I think you're right, the update completely breaks what was a picky system to being with. I can't for the life of me get ANY videos to play (JPEGS show, so I know it's not my thumb drive) I've tried every encoding scheme in Handbrake, every extension, every CODEC, a mess of different resolution...

Re: OTA Bolt EV software update through OnStar

I did the update, but I don't encode movies to MP4, so it didn't bother me. Getting full screen Android Auto was worth the update. You could just re-encode your videos?

Re: Center Rear-View Mirror/Camera in Cabin Gets Very Warm

Yup, it does that. It's fine. Or at least mine's been doing that for two years to no ill effect. Funny, I was just thinking about how long the display was going go last the other day. I don't know how many other digital mirrors there out there, or what their maintenance and failure situation is like...
