Re: Charge: As soon as possible, or as late as possible?

My Honda Fit EV was plugged in to charge to 100% immediately after arriving home (the worst case scenario according to pundits). We did this for close to 5 years with no noticeable range loss. We did notice a couple of mile drop when new tires were put on after ~4 years, so we did maybe lose a few ...

Re: Wireless Charging

Try the four possible orientations* of the phone in the wireless charging pocket. The location of the wireless charging hardware on some phones may only work in some orientations. * the four possible orientations: screen toward driver, right side up screen toward passenger, right side up screen towa...

Re: Chevy free Basic APP through Onstar no longer free.

https://www.onstar.com/us/en/plans-pricing/compare-plans/ compares the various OnStar plans. It looks like the only OnStar services that do not require a paid OnStar plan are the following: Vehicle Diagnostics* Marketplace* Smart Driver* Dealer Maintenance Notification* In-Vehicle App Access* Remote...

Re: First Use of JDapter Stub for Tesla Destination Charger to Chevy Bolt

I'm still waiting for Tesla to open their supercharging network to all EVs, and sell adaptors for CCS and CHAdeMO  I'm not holding my breath. Tesla SuperChargers have a tendency to be full, because so many Teslas have free (or free up to a limit) SuperCharging, so their owners tend to use them...

Re: California Lags in DC Fast-Charging Station Density for Electric Vehicles

As an aside, 24 kW "fast" DC chargers are not very desirable on road trip corridors, since that gives about a 1.5:1 ratio of highway driving to charging time. 50 kW would give about 3:1, while Tesla drivers may be able to get 120 kW from Tesla SuperChargers for up to a 7.5:1 ratio. But not...

Re: Aeroshutter

Perhaps those shutters only close at high speeds, so that it is difficult to see them closed unless you mount a camera to your car and aim it to see where the shutters are?

Re: Do not use EVgo fast chargers. No, seriously. Just don't.

The EVgo "haters" who propogated this thread primarily lived up in Northern California and had more options. Down here in Southern California, EVgo was a primary source for DCFC's long before they changed they membership plans, and were a good alternative even back then too. They are just...
