Re: Do not use EVgo fast chargers. No, seriously. Just don't.

The EVgo "haters" who propogated this thread primarily lived up in Northern California and had more options. Down here in Southern California, EVgo was a primary source for DCFC's long before they changed they membership plans, and were a good alternative even back then too. They are just...

It says that you need two recognized fobs, presumably to prevent a valet or someone borrowing the car from adding another fob too easily.

Re: Do not use EVgo fast chargers. No, seriously. Just don't.

Recently used an EVgo 50kW charger at Vacaville outlets. However, the first session got an error and stopped charging after about 14 minutes (notified by app). I restarted it, and it gave another error after about 7 minutes. Then I left because I wanted to go somewhere. Total charge was 15.4 kWh for...

Re: Question: Ever been ICE'd?

One universal problem with ChargePoints is they never have long enough cords. Looking at the routes where I may be most likely to want to use fast charging, I see that ChargePoint chargers are mostly 24 kW. For comparison, on those routes where EVgo chargers are present, they tend to be more numero...

Did recall by dealer to update radio software to 14.5.0, but MyChevrolet still says recall is needed?

Did recall by dealer to update radio software to 14.5.0, but MyChevrolet still says recall is needed? The recall that is said to be needed is GM Program # A172114410 issued April 9, 2018 (went to the dealer for the radio recall after that date). The title is "SDGM and BYOM2+ Radio Software Upda...

Battery weak cell detection software recall effects on settings

The recall that changes the software to detect a weak cell condition earlier does appear to lose the following settings if they are not the default ones: * Home location. * Location based charging. * Hilltop reserve mode. * When to charge based on electric rates. Possibly others as well. However, el...

Re: WARNING: Recall firmware update can break your Bolt!

I think it's a battery module that needs to be replaced. Probably means that your car was about to have the weak cell failure, but the original firmware was giving no warning of that. Then the dealer put on the new firmware which detected the problem. If that is the case, the new firmware merely fo...
