Re: I just got my ChargePoint Card,

I am new to all this. So thanks... What kind of plug do I have? And what do I look for on Chargepoint site regarding charging my Bolt regarding "plug". I assume I will always be looking for only for Fast Charging Sites? I guess I have no choice?? But "fast". Boy.... I am really ...

Re: Dead Car, Dead 12V Battery

Can anyone explain what it is about an EV that makes a traditional SLI (starting, lighting, ignition) lead acid battery unsuitable? These types are built for power (ICE starting) and not so much for energy, so reserve capacity and ability to sustain 'hotel loads' (quiescent current drains) is limit...

Re: Dead Car, Dead 12V Battery

Below is some information I found regarding the "care and feeding" of a 12 volt AGM car battery. Sulfation of the plates is a "killer"! The Average AGM Battery Life Expectancy Posted on June 21, 2018 by JeffreyDrummond Absorbent glass mat or AGM type of battery is considered to b...

Re: little 12v battery under hood

One suggestion I found for keeping your 12 volt battery healthy is this - once a month fully charge your 12 volt battery over night. I'm pretty skeptical that this would be necessary if your battery is in good condition and you drive your Bolt a reasonable distance on a regular basis. I've never do...

Re: little 12v battery under hood

Thanks. That does clear it up for me. So, my Bolt has a 12V inverter. Do you have any idea what the input voltage is from the "drive" batteries? The HV battery is about 400 volts DC. One suggestion I found for keeping your 12 volt battery healthy is this - once a month fully charge your 1...

Re: Electrify America rolls out new app and prices

Let's hope they can get the bugs worked out of their chargers. I have tried about 15 different EA chargers and only 3 worked! I think it would be useful for Spark EV and Bolt EV drivers to post their experiences on this forum so we all can see if EA is making progress or not. When the chargers work,...

Re: Dead Car, Dead 12V Battery

I did have a power pack, and I did jump start the car, but it still was undriveable and had to be towed to the dealer. 12 volt AGM batteries have been known to die suddenly. If your car started when the 12 volt power pack was connected and then died when the 12 volt power pack was disconnected, Tha...

Re: Bricked

Yes, silly me, thinking that large high voltage full charged battery was sufficient to keep by Bolt going! With the ignition turned off and the key FOB removed from the car, I am wondering if the 12-volt battery charging function is also powered down and the HV battery does not charge the 12-volt A...

Re: Dead Car, Dead 12V Battery

We’ve had our 2019 Premiere for about two weeks, so, this is just a newbie observation. Should not the EV manufactures out there put a low 12v battery warning light/symbol in their vehicles? Rich Of course they should. Follow-up: The car was plugged in for about 60 hours, about 45 hours of which wa...

Re: EVgo DC FC pricing changes coming Feb 12, 2019

Hope it's ok to create a new thread about this. Some folks got notification about this. Not me. New prices at https://www.evgo.com/pricing2019/. I did get the notice. My monthly plan cost dropped from $9.99 to $7.99 and my charging cost per minute went up from $0.15 to $0.26. Plus, there is now a l...
