Re: RECALL

Hi, charge. While we cannot speculate on a competitor product, please know that we are actively engaged with LG Chem and they are working with us on a remedy. A final remedy is anticipated for April 2021 and more details will be available at that time.

Re: RECALL

.............We were waiting for Hyundai to talk about the LG Energy Solution (LGES) statement on Kona Electric fires for a while, but now InsideEVs has an official explanation for them. According to Hyundai, it was indeed a folded anode tab in the batteries that caused the fires. Remember that the...

Re: recall work done on my Bolt without my consent

Back in November my Bolt was at the dealership for an issue unrelated to the battery fire recall and the dealership performed the temporary 'fix' on my car (limiting my rang to 90%) without my consent. I frequently use my range to the max and now I have a range problem that affects my ability to us...

Re: News about Bolt Battery Fires

I have rarely disabled "hilltop reserve" in the past, hoping that this feature also extends battery life. After receiving word of the fire risk and recall, I of course leave this 90% limit enabled. While waiting for a better fix than limiting charge to 90%, why bother getting Chevy's &quo...

Re: News about Bolt Battery Fires

Hi all, While we definitely understand that the interim repair and 90% charge limitation is not ideal, we assure you that our engineers are working around the clock to identify a permanent remedy and we expect to have the permanent remedy available after the first of the year, 2021, as mentioned abo...

Re: Recall software question

Prior to taking it into the dealer today for the recall service, I always used hilltop reserve which the MyChevy app when fully charged usually showed estimated range of 240 miles or 87%. After bringing it home after the fix, I saw that hilltop reserve is no longer an option in the charging setting...

Re: How Much I Paid for My Bolt

I've looked at and drove 3 2017 Bolts. One really stands out above the rest with less than 20k mi. A pristine LT. 2 weeks ago it was $19.500, last week 17.5 and now 15.5. I'm thinking 14k and I'll take my chances with whatever becomes of the battery situation. Hi Rocko, We look forward to having yo...

Re: News about Bolt Battery Fires

Hi everyone, General Motors has decided to voluntarily recall select 2017-2019 model-year Chevrolet Bolt EVs with high voltage batteries produced at LG Chem’s Ochang, Korea facility that may pose a risk of fire when charged to full, or very close to full, capacity. While our investigation into this ...

Re: RECALL

Is this recall related to the "First Design Battery" problem? I post the WebAuto video here posting the concern over the "First Design Battery". Go here to see this video (go to minutes 2:40 to 5:16) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssU2mjiNi_Q I got the recall notice (NHTSA Reca...

Re: RECALL

MyChevy App does not list this recall on my 2019 VIN: 1G1FZ6S01K4128445 Can I rely on this to not go to the Dealer? Certain vehicles in the 2019 model year were built using battery cells produced at LG Chem’s Ochang, Korea, facility, which is where we believe the issue developed. The verified incid...
