Re: Chevy Bolt Pre-orders? Has anyone?

If everything stays on track, production should start sometime in October. I would not expect deliveries to begin until Nov/Dec and it could be a gradual roll out similar to the 2016 Volt. 1) California 2) ZEV Sates - Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, Oregon and Vermont 3...

MPGe vs mi/kWh vs Wh/mi vs $/mi or miles/$

Since this got started in another (somewhat unrelated) thread http://www.mychevybolt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=113&start=10 I thought it was worth a separate place to debate the pros and cons of the different ways of measurement. When MPGe first showed up, I thought it was terrible. But ...

Re: To lease, or to buy? That is the question...

... you can get federal/state rebates in the US with each new lease..... 6 months after the quarter a manufacturer hits 200K in EV sales (and GM is almost halfway there), the $7500 federal income tax credit (not a rebate) drops to 50%, then 6 months later it is 25%, then it drops to 0 in another 6 ...

Re: Tesla Model 3 reservations

To me, the key is once the Model 3 comes out... As an EV supporter, I hope that Tesla can meet their projected timelines, but as a savvy buyer, I can't bank on them doing that since their past vehicle track record shows they are always behind. If the Chevy Bolt EV comes out before the Model 3 is av...

Re: Tesla Model 3 reservations

Waiting to see what's available in 2018 will likely mean adding a year or more wait time for a Model 3 compared with those that put down a reservation. Depending on what is shown , I am considering putting down a refundable deposit whether or not I end up deciding to get the Tesla. At least then I'...

Re: Tesla Model 3 reservations

I wonder if GM uses their normal roll out plan if the model 3 will beat the Bolt to my area. I would bet money they will say the 2017 model Bolt will only be sold in certain states like the 2016 Volt. Then by the time they trickle a few 2018 model cars into my area it will be 2018 already at the ea...

Re: "Not a compliance car"

People that disparage "Compliance Cars" usually don't know the back story on CARB and the incredibly complicated formulas used to determine how many and what type of credits a particular manufacturer needs to acquire in order to sell in California. The short story is a 75-100 mile BEV is a...

Tesla Model 3 reservations

Tesla will open up reservations March 31st in stores and April 1st on line. There is no "Signature" series and the deposit will be $1000. I think Tesla had to react to the Bolt hitting the market before their Model 3 If they structure it like in the past, it is fully refundable until a wee...
