In looking at how to solve my "lack of Homelink" to open the garage door dilemma, I decided to look into getting one on eBay (like this one) and then trying to modify the instructions here to add one to the visors. (either passenger or drivers side)

But, I'd need to first find out whether the visor had power, or would I need to get power to the visor (if even possible).

Or I'd have to add it to the headliner using instructions like this.

So, anyone have a picture of the visors? Or a better picture than this one of the headliner near the visors and mirror?

Thanks

Try one of these. They are tiny (just over 2" long), and can be stuck almost anywhere in the car: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018IQ9I2I

Looks like no lights on the vanity mirror, and this is on a premiere (I think) because of all the onstar business.

If I had to guess, I'd say the wiring harness would still come up there for models that don't have the onstar features in the roof console.

WAIT - after looking at these pictures, there's something else up there that every model will have - dome/map lights! Steal power from that... if you had to you could fish a wire above the headliner over from the light to behind the visor

The only consideration would be if you want constant power or switched power. The dome lights likely stay on and fade out after the doors are closed, so maybe that's no good, which puts you back at looking for the other unused wires in the harness that would come up to the ceiling.

Well, I found out the same thing. So, I took the advice from @Eldrick and got the key fob remote, and then mounted underneath the radio cluster out of sight.

Another option is to turn your phone into a remote. I use Garagemate:

https://bluemate.com

Simple to install and works with just about every opener, and it does indeed work. Up to eight devices can be linked with one receiver, and logs are available for activity.

Got you most of the way there...
