For those who have bought or tested some aftermarket seat cushions that you feel made the front seats tolerable, please share with us here.

I got one of these. It's thin - more a cover than a cushion. I found the Bolt seats comfortable enough without any covering, but this does smooth over a couple of the hard spots that I think I would not even have noticed if not for all the complaining on the internet. ;) Makes comfort a complete non-issue for me, and should protect the seat bottom leather too.

Not sure how large you want the cushion, but I've use this in all our cars:

I've had a life-long issue with lower back stiffness, and this works for me.

Another cushion recommendation from another member.

I just got this cushion and it solved my front seat problems:

I am still not happy that I have to buy a freaking cushion to make a BRAND NEW car comfortable.

Another member is testing a Plasticolor seat cover with a Chevy logo over cloth seats. O'Riley autoparts sells them.

This one fits well enough:

Needed some zipties to hook it down, sort of difficult to tuck inside the hard plastic on the front of the seat, and seller sent wrong color,
YMMV...

Not as difficult as adding a couple of layers of foam under the original cushion, but the combination feels great, and most importantly, the SO thinks so too. She's the main driver, (I'm just the weekend relief) so here opinion is most important. And it passed the all important entry/exit pain test caused by the raised side plastic.

I've ordered this one also but not yet arrived. In the meantime I'm using an old wedge shaped cushion that a relative gave us. It's a bit soft so my lower thigh still gets pressure a little but my hips are up above the main pressure points now. Interestingly also the seat back is not digging in on my lower back as much now I'm higher. This has now convinced me to put extra padding into the seat under the original seat padding asap, as well as put on the new cushion when it arrives. I'm hoping the two together will be enough to get me into the Bolt more as I love just about everything else about the car.

Be aware that the color may not be what you want. I ordered gray, and got something closer to beige. After getting that refunded, I ordered the same thing from a different vendor, only to receive the same not-gray item. Black or white may be OK, I can't say, but the gray is definitely off, IMO.

Funny you should say that...... mine is a weird dull beige (ish) colour also. Nothing like the light gray in the image. On a better note though, it has done the trick for me. The seat base is now comfy enough for the drive to work and not causing my left leg to go dead and my hip to hurt. It will certainly do for a short term fix but the dealer is still my next port of call, and I just got an emailed survey. Guess what my focus will be

Would LOVE to hear what other dealers are saying. I'm kind of at the end of my rope. I'm leasing the car plus, if there's a recall, I don't know whether if you add the foam like in the YouTube video, Chevy will say your car doesn't comply because of the modification.

Here's where I am right now:

STILL no word from Jeremy or his supervisor David at GM and I've left 8 voicemail messages since May 8th. Allen Gwynn Chevrolet, my dealer in Glendale, told me today that he is going to start charging me for the courtesy rental and a fee for storing my Bolt. He also told me that there is nothing more that he can do until there's an authorized repair from Chevy/GM.

This is my very first experience with GM and Chevy and I have to say, it will likely be my last. The customer service stinks. GM does not seem to care about its customers who purchased or leased a $40,000+ car.

On the positive side, I was able to do my typical 3 mile run on Saturday morning pain-free after not driving the Bolt for almost two weeks.

I hear ya and unfortunately, Chevy/GM is not gonna do anything about the comfort issue we are feeling; I have been pounding that drum for 6 months and squat. I cannot believe they would produce a car with these front seats. The nationwide roll-out is going to be a PR train wreak.

You can easily insert foam into the front seats, and remove it if you take the car back. I did it and it worked. The video was very helpful. Not gonna spend 400 per seat, for what took my 10 minutes.

Just had a thought. GM should offer the original seats as optional "Sport" seats. :D
No one would ever complain about them, and the rest of us could get the comfortable version included at no cost. That should offset the cost of developing the new comfortable seats too.

I agree, no one would complain if listed as sports seats, but I don't think GM's marketing dept is quite that clever.

I paid $20 for a Type S Comfort Gel Seat Cushion from Costco. They vary in style and availability.

I needed one in my MINI Cooper for long trips, so I just transferred it to my Bolt.
