Last week I made an appointment with the dealer to install the update so, even though I have the file on a stick, I figured I'd just let them do it. Went in there at 2pm yesterday and waited, and waited, and waited. They even came out twice to update me on progress and informed me there were TWO updates including one for the infotainment ... woohoo (no kidding, that's why I'm here but I didn't say that). I just gave him the thumbs up and and kept on waiting. I read both copies of SI cover to cover. THREE HOURS I sat there! Finally, at almost 5pm it was done. They even rotated the tires.
On my way home, I plugged in my phone to reconfigure Android Auto ... Nope. Android Auto fired right up but it still had the black bars on the side. Three hours and all they did was rotate the tires. They TOLD me I got the new update, but I didn't. Not happy!
After stewing for a while I decided to do it myself. Found a memory stick and erased it. Put the update file on it by itself. Stuck it in the car and started the update. About 15 minutes later it was done. This time I had to accept the terms of Android Auto. It loaded FULL SCREEN for the first time
Moral of the story: The dealership can suck my stick!
I've only had it long enough to drive to work this morning, and I was driving not fiddling with stuff, but I didn't notice any other changes other than full screen AA.
Side note: the electricians are here today wiring a 220 plug for my ChargePoint Home. They've been here for a month wiring everything BUT my plug. If they actually complete it, today is a blessed day
