I used to routinely remove the passenger seat for additional storage, especially when driving solo on long trips. Have not done this on the Bolt. Yes, for about the last 20 years it seems those bolts are seriously torqued in and perhaps Loctited as well, and I can't help wondering if those are also high-tensile-strength bolts. I feel your pain!

One issue with removing the car seats (which I've now stopped doing) is that on some cars disconnecting the seat sensor for the airbag sets a code which only the dealer can reset, much to the delight of the service department which loves to charge at least their minimum.

Good luck with replacing that bolt!
