I just purchased a Bolt. It came with the following charger: CC-C-L2-13-300-B. This is currently setup as a 110V, or a Level 1. I have read on some other Volt forums this can be converted to an L2 by making an adapter from the 110v to the 220V using a nema 5-15R receptacle, then a 220V plug to match whatever outlet is in your garage. This will provide 12A at 220V, with a charge rate I think about 12 miles in an hour (1/2 of a full Level 2, but far more than the level 1. What I read was for a Volt, but since it is the same charger, I assume it will work for the Bolt. Any comments would be appreciated.

Yep, I've been using the EVSE that came with my Bolt (EVSE = "Electric Vehicle Service Equipment", the proper name for the cord that comes with the car) with a standard 120V style receptacle wired to a 240V/15A circuit and it's been working great for me.

Me too.

Remember you get the same 12 amps, only the voltage is double, so = double the wattage.

You will get about 6 to 8 miles per hour of charging instead of 3 to 4.

If you have not seen it yet, although from your post it sounds like you may have, this thread is the background as to "why" you can do this.

Just thought I would post that the conversion was simple and works fine. I do have an identical one I have listed on Ebay for $225. When I bought the Bolt somehow there was a 2nd one in there. Listed as evse L2 Charger
