In a youtube video below, Head of Consumer Affairs at GM discusses the Bolt. He says it will be in showrooms in 2016 for a starting price of "about $30,000"

Despite what James Bell said, GM still has no official position on whether the Bolt will make production status.

“The video, unfortunately is incorrect. James made a simple mistake after a long day of interviews. Chevrolet has not yet announced production of the Bolt EV – and while we’ve been impressed by the volume of positive feedback we’ve received since announcing the concept – we do not have any production announcements to make at this time.“

So, still no confirmation of production :(

This 'accident' along with the leaked info of production starting October 2016 makes me think that GM is planning to produce it, they just haven't announced it yet and don't want to make it public. Either to throw off Nissan for the Leaf 2.0, or maybe just to keep the mystery a little longer with consumers?

Check out how carefully worded this is:
"Bolt EV Concept is just that – a concept. We’re currently evaluating the vehicle program, but do not have any production announcements to make at this time."

AT THIS TIME - hints that they will announce it, but don't want to yet!

Seems like a constant battle between keeping the lid on this, while not lying and saying 'we have nothing to say'

According to DetroitAuto, they predict an announcement will be made during the opening of the upcoming Chicago Auto Show
