This article talks about the redesigned 2016 Spark, but the Spark EV will still be built with the old design. That means the Spark EV will RIP once the Bolt gets here, rather than be built alongside the higher mileage EV as some speculated...

“The Next-Generation Spark to be unveiled during the 2015 New York Auto Show is an all-new vehicle and will only be offered with an internal combustion engine.

The Spark EV will continue on the current generation Spark platform until its already scheduled end of production. We will not provide any additional details on timing of a replacement at this time.”

Other news outlets are saying the Spark EV won't continue?

"Though yet to be confirmed by GM, evidence suggests that the brand’s latest three- and four-cylinder Ecotech engines will be utilized for the new Spark. However, the all-electric plugin version of the vehicle will be notably absent from the party this time around, as the automaker continues to work on the new 2017 Chevrolet Bolt – an all-electric vehicle that could prove a headache for Tesla’s long-awaited Model 3."
