"The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV is on target for production in 2016. GM recently moved the production target to the fourth quarter of 2016, rather than the start of 2017."

To explain a little bit more, at the GM Conference, GM announced the battery in the Bolt will cost them $145 per kWh, which is a secured price, not an estimate, and is industry leading.

By 2020, GM is hoping that cost will be as low as $100 per kWh.
