Will StoreDot's battery be a game changer? If you can charge your car in five minutes, does that make a difference in the minds of the car buying public?

The question isn't "will this kind of battery change the game". Of course it will. But the real question is "how likely is it that this will become commercially feasible and how long will that take"?

So, calculate the power needed to charge a Bolt's battery in five minutes, and ask an electrician how much it would cost to wire up your garage for that, and ask your power company if they will deliver it to you...

Like the current DCFC standards, this type of charging will not be utilized for home charging.

But....
Even some locations with 50 kW fast chargers are getting hit with "demand charges" that can skyrocket the property owners electric bill. I know of at least one DCFC unit in Oregon that was taken off-line for this very reason.

From an article about car charging and demand charges:
In one example in the Rocky Mountain Institute’s report, EVgo had a charger that generated a monthly bill of $1,938, of which $1,362 was demand charges.
