Do you think I'll be able to tow a small boat with the Bolt?

The manual (U.S. manual, 2017 Bolt, page 199 AND page 246) says : "This vehicle is neither designed nor intended to tow a trailer"

Designed for, no.

Capable, yes.

Two totally different things.

In some GM circles the Bolt is called a “Crossover Utility Vehicle”. If you really look around, the Bolt EV is not small. It is larger than 40% of the not truck vehicles out there.

It has more than ample power.
It has more than ample brakes. (Two braking systems that can completely stop the vehicle independently or in tandem with each other while an ICE has one.)
It has more than ample weight to keep it firmly planted on the road.

It’s better than most cars for towing a small boat, motorcycle, or U-haul trailer.

If you plan to use regen to help brake the rig, make sure to use the Hilltop Mode for charging. Otherwise you'll not have that second braking system at the start of a trip.
