    Heated rear seats

I am in the market to replace my 2014 Leaf. It's actually harder than I thought because I am not totally happy with any of the EV options. I am certain I won't buy another Leaf, mostly because of service issues and minor design screw ups. But one thing I have noticed is that no other brand...

What do you think of Tesla's New Pickup

I am a carpenter. That truck is utterly useless as a truck. Its just another toy for people who want to deliver their golf clubs in style. I liked the Bollinger, although it was a little over the top, until I saw the starting price. Once again, nothing for the trades people who do tons of...

    Dead Car, Dead 12V Battery

Try checking it while it is plugged in. I'm curious to see if it is charging then.

    Dead Car, Dead 12V Battery

On my Nissan Leaf the 12 volt battery does not charge when the car is plugged in. Leaving the car plugged in for 60 hours would lead my Leaf to be dead, just as your car was, especially if there was any draw, like a bluetooth OBD2 transmitter. I had thought that the Bolt was programmed...

    Misadventures at Anaheim Stadium

I have been through similar crap with my Leaf a few times, minus the towing mishaps. A USB charged jump start battery, left plugged in for 10 minutes or so, will usually charge the 12 volt enough to boot up.

From a Leaf to a Bolt: Early Returns

It's okay, she isn't on this forum. But in all seriousness a hockey goalie doesn't travel light. I firmly believe that people should buy as much car as they need and no more, and that gear will drive my next decision. I hope there are good options. So far that electric VW bus is nothing but...

From a Leaf to a Bolt: Early Returns

I like this conversation. Of course different people will have different requirements. I have a 2014 Leaf right now that has good points and bad. I have not been happy with Nissan or their dealerships. A bigger problem is that my son is a hockey goalie. I can fit his bag in the car with...

has anyone found success with TOU (time-of-use) rates at home?

I looked into a TOU in NJ and they add a $10 equipment charge to the bill every month for the meter. There goes all of the potential savings. Is there no additional charge elsewhere?

    2018 Bolt Release Date

Are there any changes between the 17's and 18's?

New tech battery for our 2017 bolts in the future?

If the Leaf is any comparison, the packs will not be reverse compatible. Automakers really are just about profit, not about sustainability. They don't make electric cars to be green, they do it for financial reasons.

How does the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit Work

I will add that I use an accountant for many reasons and got the full $7500 back. Exactly as explained above, it is real,

    Tire sealant and compressor kit

I own a Leaf, but it came with the same system. A compressor and a can of goo. I had occasion to use it last week, and to my great surprise it worked. I drove to a tire shop where they pointed out that all of my tires were giving out after only 25 thousand miles, but that is another story...

Is there a 12 volt battery

Thank you, That was the information i needed. It sounds like GM got this one right. Nissan failed miserably.

Is there a 12 volt battery

Thanks. How is it charged? Will it charge while the car is plugged in? That's the real question.

Is there a 12 volt battery

Hi, Pardon my ignorance. I have a Nissan Leaf, and it uses a 12 volt battery for accessories which charges from the main battery. It has given me enough trouble that I am ready to sell the car and buy a different electric car. The main issue is that if the car is plugged in, charging or...
