    RECALL

It is to soon to know and as of now there is no timeline for any repair, if such a thing is even possible at this point. The stop sale is in effect for every Bolt and we now know that even a fresh battery pack that came off the assembly line just last week carries the same fire risk as all the...

    RECALL

Yes, I hope we find out some details. But it also seems to be another case of someone discharging pretty low fairly often. So that could be a trigger also. But the main point would still be that the final software update was unaware of a cell problem and didn't warn the owner. Then the "alarm"...

    RECALL

No issues found with my 2017 (26K miles). I suspect they aren't finding very many given the handful of cars that burned. Other than needing to fix a lot of my settings once back from the dealer it is back to normal and I can charge away from home again. With the temp fix, communication problems...

    Software Update For Range

I found this. It's for the Volt but probably it applies. https://www.gm-volt.com/threads/charging-override-interruption-occurred.290633/

Chevy build & price is deceitful

Nothing deceitful about it and no reason to panic, or even post about it. GM isn't a small organization you know. The information has to filter through a lot of departments. Then their IT department has to work through what is changing, test it, and then schedule the production change through...

    Did I do Any Damage?

Yes, perfectly normal. Mine does too on our slight slope of a driveway. Even our Forester makes a racket when it self-applies braking. I don't know how cars apply braking but much more dramatic than me stepping on the pedal.

    RECALL

Yes, I just made an appointment at the area Bolt-certified dealer but then got my notice in the mail a few days later. They're working on it today.

Extension cord use for 2020 Bolt

A 110v 15AMP cord will work using the home wall socket. Just get a good contractor grade cord, not some cheap $15 one. Set the car to 12amps (which is 80% of 15amps, the safety rating), or the 8amp setting and that will work. The 8amp setting especially in older homes that could have marginal...

Keeping the 2020 Bolt plugged in

As a side note for new owners in cold areas (I'm in Chicago), I get a text alert when it hits 0 degrees F that I should keep the car plugged in to prevent battery damage. Now that is a generic warning since the battery, if above 40% SOC, can keep itself warm. But you may have it parked for days...

The Chevy Bolt Requires Little Maintenance

Ah, no. Got my 2017 used which now has 26K miles and my under hood looks basically new, including Chicago winters. I could almost eat off it in there. I just remove a few leaves up at the vent intake. Might depend on the area since if I still lived in AZ I'd probably need to blow some dust out...

    RECALL

As to the urgency, since there was just another fire supposedly with the temp fix in place, I'd get it scheduled the moment your model year can be worked on. From what I've seen in some posts, it appears to take a few hours for the diagnostic tool to run so if there are no issues with the pack...

    USB ports

This was a recent topic in this or the other forum I keep an eye on. Yes, the USB in the Bolt (and most cars) is very weak. My iPhone SE about maintains its charge level while running Google maps but doesn't really gain any charge. I believe when I tested it that it only showed about .94 amps...

Storage module for between driver and passenger seat?

Yes, it doesn't move around at all. That space is deep enough that about a third of it sits down in it and has the added weight of whatever it's holding. You could also add a couple Velcro dots on the bottom but I haven't had the need.

    RECALL

Maybe, but what does that get you? You still need the service department to run the diagnostics first before the update is applied. I for one plan to drop my 2017 off with about 45% charge and let them check it all they want so they find as many bad cells as possible if there are any.

Storage module for between driver and passenger seat?

North/south? In line with the center console.
