    Bolt convenience question

You could walk to the glass with the key fob and do the 'precondition'. And remember, this is to heat or cool the car depending on the season. I can walk to this wall which red brick covered on the outside where my car is parked and the key fob works thru the wall!

    stock charger says 120V

Just a quick note, installing a 30A circuit is right between the two main power ratings for most EVSE's, There is a 80% constant duty of a circuit rule. That's why you see these charge values. - 20A circuits are used for 16A/3.8kW EVSE's. - 40A circuits are used for 32A/7.2kW EVSE's, which is...

    stock charger says 120V

Downsides: You have a potentially dangerous 120V outlet in your house that actually has 240V on it. That adapter should be hidden if you ever have an inspector come through. You only get twice the power after buying this adapter. 2.8kW vs. 1.4 kW. Upside: You can be cheap and do this. But...

New to the Bolt wifi - software questions

If your Circuit Breaker Box has 20A CB's for all the 120V circuits you should be good. The reason for 12A is it's 80% of a 15A circuit. 80% constant duty rule. You can test what is on the garage outlet you use by turning off the CB and see what's all on that circuit. Don't share the car's EVSE...

    Phantom Power Usage?

I think he means 1kW on the Power / Regen display. I see this routinely in Ready mode. I don't see decimal points for kW so I think it is rounding up to 1kW for all the systems running in the car when no HVAC systems are on. Could be only 600 Watts. Who knows? When in D,L,R the drive unit oil...

    News about Bolt Battery Fires

It's great to see you guys here on this forum! I'd give the engineers a break. Do you really need a 3rd shift of "engineers working around the clock"? They work better in groups, exchanging ideas and data. I had interaction with your team when I was asking if the 'DCFC Robustness'...

    Aftermarket DC fast charge options

Yeah, sorry for the lack of compassion. Pleading with the dirty dealer that sold it to you is your only hope. Tell them you want to exchange it for one with the DCFC 'Option', if they won't take it back and give you a refund. Or be a slime like those guys and sell it without mentioning,,, you...

    Shift Selector??

How does it work with Park being between D and N -- R? Do you have to come to a complete stop anytime you shift from D to R and R to D? I like not having to do that in EV's and some Hybrids.

60% of Americans Don’t Even Know That Plug-in Electric Vehicles Exist

That hoopla part is right! The rest of it is just sad. Look at the Volt. Such a great concept that's been around since '11 and still people don't know what it is....

Supercharger Abuse - Tesla takes a Stand

    >That would not make any sense. The Superchargers are DC Fast Charging. They don't want cars loitering there. The idea is: Chit and Git. >>Again, when they bought the car it was "Free Lifetime access to the SC network", in writing. A deals a deal. There is no abuse of 'Free'. It obviously was...

Supercharger Abuse - Tesla takes a Stand

He can encourage anything he wants. However the SC enabled cars have a contract for free life-time access to the SC Network. If you prefer to suck up free electrons instead of paying for them at home, that's your option. What about the apartment dweller that can't charge at home and bought the...
