There's more choice out there every month. Hyundai is already selling the new Ioniq Electric, and the local VW dealers are booking e-Golf test drives in advance. Both rated to 200km - half of that of the Bolt, but reasonable for most people's needs. And on the other end of the price range, Tesla...

Definitely let GM corporate know you're unhappy with how you're treated. They came up with a remarkable car a full year ahead of the competition. They had a year to build up a loyal customer base and get the word of mouth going. And they blew it. Not enough production capacity, ridiculously low...

The deposit should indeed be refundable, although you should've discussed that explicitly with the dealer BEFORE you placed your order, and put it down in writing. Our refund took about a week to process, but they did it without any attempts to stall or sway, no hard feelings.

+1 This is one of the major reasons we cancelled our Bolt preorder. The local dealer wouldn't share any information with regards to availability, projected build dates, our rank in their order queue (would not even admit they have a limit on car allocations), and so on. They even had no clue...

There are a lot of chargers to choose from. If you're planning to claim the EVSE installation rebate, then the wiring has to be done by a certified electrician, the charger needs to be purchased from a Canadian retailer (amazon.com may not be acceptable), and be CUL/UL listed. You can claim up...

It may not have been available with the body color you selected. If possible, definitely get the black grille. The silver variety is pretty hideous in person.

    Lease rates in Canada

It was 14K at the time of the first post as well. But the lease calculator applies it before tax, so we get 14000 / 1.13 = 12389

That's amazing news! Do post your impressions when you get it. P.S. We had a chance to inspect one in person in Thornhill today. They had a black Premier and a GM rep on site for two hours. Looks pretty solid, lots of good ideas went into the car. A little too much glossy black plastic for my...

    Which Bolt rims look better?

You should be able to mount rims from other GM cars that use the 5x105 bolt pattern. 16" would work well for snows.

    Which Bolt rims look better?

They're both painted and clear coated. The difference is that the LT wheels are coated with the same pain all over, while the Premier wheels are painted black on the inside, polished on the outer side of the spokes, and then clear coated. Corrosion will eventually get through curb dents, rock...

Of course they have. My preliminary bill of sale came with a $500 admin fee, a $200 "theft deterrent" fee, $40 gasoline fee and other ridiculous items. We'll have a lot to talk about with the rep when the order comes through.

    Lease rates in Canada

Just noticed that gm.ca started showing lease rates for the Bolt (it was previously missing). Monthly rates (after tax) and residuals with 0 down for Ontario: 24 months - $1045/mo tax in, $21,996 residual (44%) 36 months - $673/mo tax in, $19,496 residual (38%) 48 months - $618/mo tax in...

Roy Foss is doing the same thing on Thursday at their Thornhill location. Guess they have one car that gets passed around.

    Fishtailing

It's not just driveshafts. Uneven tire traction and suspension flex have a good deal of input here. With this much instant torque at the front wheels, its practically inevitable. Having driven and owned a number of modified FWD turbo cars with over 300 wtq, I can attest it gives the car a lot of...

    Which Bolt rims look better?

Is that why the Premier comes with the rims painted black on the inside - to maintain the established look from day one? But you're right, we're pleasantly surprised with the state of rims on our Smart ED compared to ICE cars.
