    Can the Bolt do this?

Yes, every car has this capability, I had a 45 amp power pole connection in the back of my Prius feeding an ISOpwr with an aux battery for ignition off usage of just the radio. This served a bonus purpose in the Prius with the undersized 12V battery, I could jump start my self by disconnecting...

New Bolt owner, with some questions.

I think you may be right. I looked back and the passage I was remembering in the owner's manual was in the Chrysler Pacifica PHEV that we had preordered previously. We ended up bailing on that and going with the Bolt after numerous delays.

New Bolt owner, with some questions.

Just a clarification, the Bolt does have radar. The blind spot monitoring system is radar based. The ultrasonic sensors are used for parking. The safe following distance indicator and emergency stop assist come via the vision system near the rear-view mirror. Chevy's implementation of...

    Hot Garage

Yeah, I charge in the driveway and despite having no time of use rates at our house use departure time based charging set to 7 am. This way I can have EVSE powered battery conditioning and let the charge happen in the morning when it is cool.

    Service Side Detection System

That's the message mentioned in the manual for the blind spot/rear cross traffic alert radar. Back quarter panel each side or behind the bumper on the sides, I forget which. Manual mentions rain, dirt, etc on the car can cause issues and to try making sure the area is clean if the message is...

    New Jersey

I'm in Galloway near Atlantic City. There's another owner that lives around the corner from me, haven't met them but have seen them pulling out onto the road. The NJ Chapter of the Electric Vehicle Association has a Facebook group, https://www.facebook.com/groups/njeaa If you are in the SJ...

    7 Year Old's EV Awareness

We bought our first full EV, the Bolt, in March but previously had hybrids. My seven year old loves to tell people we have an electric car without an engine whenever the chance, even tangentially, comes up. For example, he recently relished the opportunity to correct a docent at the Thomas...

    Suggestions

There is http://www.chevrolet.com/performance-data-recorder on the Camaro and Corvette which includes modes for normal driving and valet mode where it's auto on. PDR uses an SD card but storing to a thumb drive would technically work the same.

    DC FAST CHARGING

Isn't the Bolt supposed to be the first 200+ mile range EV for the masses? The average person doesn't research every option available on a vehicle before purchasing it. A non-EV enthusiast is unlikely to be aware of things unique to an EV. Seems like the OP did do some research as he was aware...

    Tax credit question

Close.... 3) Owe less than $1000 after estimated tax/withholding is deducted from the tax bill. I believe it's the 3rd one that comes into play for most average people. There's are also an exception if the underpayment being due to a death, disaster, or disability "and not willful neglect".

Audible warning for Lane departure and blind spot warning

There is an audible warning but it's very late. I've had it come on a few times when going around a construction or postal vehicle on the side of the road and crossed the center line without signaling, in this case, it seemed it was triggered by the prolonged departure from the lane and...

Mountain Driving: Range decrease for elevation gain?

It just doesn't regen and you use the mechanical breaks like a traditional ICE car. Perhaps not quite like a traditional ICE as you don't have the engine to downshift and help.

New Bolt Hard Cargo Cover Accessory from Chevrolet

GMPartsDirect.com shows it as $200 MSRP and is offering it for $162. Sub $75 I'd be tempted to order it to see if I like it.

The Chevy Bolt Is the Ugly Car of the (Very Near) Future

Just to clarify my point a bit. I'm happy with a loose usage of English. It was more of a fight fire with fire rant, after all. Sure econobox originally was a combination of economy and box, but the Chevy Bolt absolutely fits even the most pedantic definition of the word today.

The Chevy Bolt Is the Ugly Car of the (Very Near) Future

Unfortunately, that last case regarding usage of literally is now considered correct. I believe Merriam-Webster added it last year or the year before. The main issue there is that the English language is a living, growing being and the lexicon is continuously updated as new words are birthed...

CCS chargers now at Bolt EV (Chevrolet) dealerships!!!

But PlugShare is for listing chargers available to the public now, not chargers that may be installed in 6-36 months. Possibly not even publicly available then. The dealer I bought my Bolt from doesn't have publicly available EVSEs, I'm not sure about the closer one I plan to go to for service...

    Where to mounth the EZPass

Just double checked the website and yes, the high-speed express lanes read it fine as well as the entry/exit readers. I've also taken a couple of trips to Philly with no issues at the DRPA bridge tolls for both the Walt Whitman and Ben Franklin bridges.

    Where to mounth the EZPass

This seemed like the best option to me. There aren't many choices, unfortunately.

Engine Noise Loud (Brand New EV - 35 miles)

Even after then, it's vehicles manufactured after the date that require the noise makers.
