From what I can see looks like you're right - they are backing off and letting Android Auto and Apply CarPlay do their thing. For the cheapest solution, you could use an old Android phone and connect to the Bolt's hotspot. Data service for that is $10 per month according to GM.

The most advanced and modern approach is to dispense with testing and have your PR department and Twitter account attack anyone who would even suggest your products have problems :D

Is anyone reserving a Model 3 today? I am contemplating it, although I hear there was a line of 300 at the local Tesla store this morning so I'm not sure it is worth it?

I'll be buying the Bolt EV as soon as I can get it - then I'll keep it until I can trade for a Model 3 that I can buy from a local Tesla dealership. Right now, the nearest one is 3 hours away in Chicago and I don't want to have to drive 3 hours every time I need service or questions answered...
