So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

I'm in the same boat, I'm just starting to think about what I want to do with my bolt. I actually have much less than 10k/yr, I'm doing about 5k/yr, so I don't know how that might affect the residual? Is that number negotiable when you turn in the car? Doesn't the dealer want to sell it to...

    Question: Ever been ICE'd?

This just happened to me for the first time, this past Friday afternoon. My Bolt was a bit low on charge and I decided to go to the mall near my office, where there is an EVgo DC charging station with 2 Combo plugs. I pulled into the parking structure where the station is, and there was a Chevy...

Chevy free Basic APP through Onstar no longer free.

I leased my Bolt in October 2017. I'm still getting the free Basic plan, including charging status, tire pressure and the key fob (although that last one has never worked for me). I just checked it this morning, in fact. I wonder if I've been "Grandfathered" in?

EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

So I responded to an email from EVgo and received a $175 credit for charging my Bolt. I tried it for the first time at a station at the mall near my house. I expected it to disconnect after 45 minutes, but it went for the full 60. I guess this freebie is considered a "Plan" in their parlance...

EVgo $175 credit for Bolt Owners

Yes, I have an account with them, although I very rarely use it so I'm just pay as you go.

EVgo $175 credit for Bolt Owners

I just received an email from Ev go offering me a $175 credit for 6 months because of my Bolt. I signed up and it seems to be legitimate I received $175 credit immediately showing up in the app and it's valid through March 19th of next year. Have other people here received the same email?

    I-95 ARC, does it exist?

I thought I'd follow up on this a bit. I saw a few days ago, that Nissan and EvGO have announced that they have "finished" the ARC on I-95 https://insideevs.com/nissan-evgo-i-95-fast-charging/ Of course, I find it funny that none of the press releases or any information from Nissan or EVGo on...

    Extending battery life

So I have a 5 mile commute each way to work. Typically, I'll plug my car in once a week or so, but leave it overnight so it's full the next day. I haven't really had the car discharged under 50% except for one longer road trip where it got down to around 30%. However, 99% of my charging has...

    Hello from ChargePoint!

Hi. So you do know that there is an EAST COAST in the United States, in addition to California, right? People here in New England would also like to travel along our interstates, secure in our knowledge that we can recharge our cars. Right now, if I want to drive to NYC from Boston, there is...

    I-95 ARC, does it exist?

Yes, I was "that guy". ;) After looking at the charging stations and the weather, and all, I just decided not to use the Bolt. But, I'm really anxious to try taking the car on a longer trip like that, so I keep scanning the Internet and checking Plug Share to see if any new stations have...

    I-95 ARC, does it exist?

Hi all, So I chickened out on my last road trip between Boston and NYC and took my ICE car instead of my Bolt. I've got to make another trip to NYC in a couple of weeks, and I was doing some internet searches for EV charging along I-95. I ran across this article (and many similar from the...

    The "Cult" of Tesla

Boy, I'm with you on that. I "stumbled" on my Bolt because they happened to have one on display in the showroom of the Chevy dealership where I was shopping for a new car. I looked at it and I'd never heard of a "Bolt". I went home to do some research on the car and realized that it was a...

    The "Cult" of Tesla

First of all, I never said that Tesla wasn't a good product. What I DID say, and you should probably read it again, is that I commented in response to someone who decided to let their Model 3 deposit expire, because they couldn't wait for the car any longer, that I loved my Bolt, that it was an...

    The "Cult" of Tesla

Interesting article in today's NY Times, regarding recent reports that Tesla might soon be bankrupt: https://nyti.ms/2uwiuRb I find the most interesting part, to be the comments. I had the "nerve" to mention how much I love my new Bolt and the sneering and pejorative comments about my being...

Special Charging rates for Bolt Owners

Guess what? Tesla is the ONE electric car manufacturer that really does NOT need to provide a network of chargers, for the same reason you mentioned. Most people get "free juice" at work or plug it in at home. People buy Teslas, not because they can drive cross country and use the...

Special Charging rates for Bolt Owners

So here's a question for Chevrolet, and I apologize if this has already been asked (but I didn't see it in this forum). Why doesn't Chevrolet offer special charging rates for public charging, such as Nissan and BMW offer? It really seems as if GM is producing this car only because it's forced...

EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

I wish I had known about the new rates. I decided to try the fast charger near my house, just to see if it worked (I've not had occasion to use fast charging with my car yet). I did get the 45 minute session, but it cost me $16.25. That's just crazy. I guess it would have been half that, if...

Advice on a road trip between Boston and New York City

Thank you very much. All excellent ideas. Actually, the timing of my trip is late March, so it shouldn't be terribly cold by then, I'd think. I will check out the chargers in Milford though, that is actually where we usually stop for some lunch along the way, so that could work out well.

Advice on a road trip between Boston and New York City

Hi, So I make the trip from my home near Boston, to New York City, a few times a year. We prefer to drive. We usually will stay at a hotel in Manhattan we like, and drop the car off at a valet garage around the corner. Our next trip is coming up in a few weeks, and this would be the first...

    "Auto" HVAC questions

So I've been driving my Bolt for a few months now and I have a question about the hvac. Specifically the "Auto" setting. I've read and re-read the owners manual but it just isn't really clear to me. Is there a way to adjust what "Auto" means? In other words, in my car when it's set to...
