Is $7,500 EV Tax Credit still available?

I visited my local Chevrolet dealer this past weekend, and found that, for a lease, Chevrolet does NOT pass the $7500 tax credit to the person leasing the vehicle. What they do is artificially inflate the residual value of the car. The residual value for the Bolt is, if I remember correctly, in...

    Attached Garage Air Conditioner

Thanks....yes, I will have help, a friend of mine who is a pretty good handyman, and my 17 year old son who will be the muscle. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm also considering putting a smaller one of these in my garage to try to keep the temp down in there, since it isn't air conditioned...

    Attached Garage Air Conditioner

I just bought one of these units (the largest unit they have) to install in my Mom's house the weekend after next. I've read the installation manuals and watched the videos on YouTube, seems pretty straightforward. From somebody who actually just did it, anything you can share that would make my...

Need help with leasing numbers in the bay area

Exactly.....and the reason why I'll be sitting it out until late 18 / early 19, when the desire to upgrade to a longer range EV will be higher, due to expiration of carpool lane access on my current EV. Keith

Need help with leasing numbers in the bay area

In early 2019 there will also be a bunch more competition for the Bolt, with the extended range Leaf and the Hyundai Kona. Right now Chevy has the >200 mile affordable EV market to themselves, but that's going to change here soon.

Need help with leasing numbers in the bay area

I've been working with a number of Chevy dealers here in the SoCal area to try to find a decent lease deal, and so far the best I've found has been in the low 400's with zero down. None of the dealers are really doing any kind of big discounts, and the GM rebates are pretty skimpy as well...

    No deals right now?

Thanks, all, for the responses. Yes, I have been checking the lease deals website each week, and did see the various offers from Martin and Sierra. And, I have a couple of lease calculators so that I can take advertised deals and "tweak" the inputs to see what the payments are with various down...

    No deals right now?

Thanks for the tip on Sierra, they are just a few miles away from me and they have a good amount of inventory. The dealer I'm working with (via email) through Costco dropped a bit, to $425 with $1500 down (also forgot to mention that these payments include 9.5% sales tax), but that only works...

    No deals right now?

Thanks for the response....but I find it hard to believe that supply is an issue. When I look on cars.com, there are 446 new Bolts for sale within 75 miles of my house; my closest dealer has 18 in stock, some of the other dealers have well over 30. I was wondering whether GM was actively trying...

    No deals right now?

So, been getting serious about trading my Ford Focus Electric for a new Bolt. This time I want to lease, but I'm not finding any sort of deals out there. The Chevrolet website lists a low mileage lease for $437/mo with $500 down + fees for a base model. A dealer in my area gave me a Costco quote...

    Misadventures at Anaheim Stadium

I've wondered about this as well, the only rational reason I could think of was that the rest of the vehicle "infrastructure" (radio, lights, etc) is a re-use from conventional vehicles and the manufacturer didn't want to spend the money to come up with all new parts. But, if that's the case...

How to get dead Bolt into neutral for tow?

A competent tow truck driver will have little "dollies" that he will wedge under the wheels that allow the vehicle to slide when the wheels are locked. They use them all the time when hooking up vehicles that are parked illegally. They can also use them to move the vehicle sideways.

    Dolly towing a Chevy Bolt

RE: This is about towing the car behind a motorhome on a tow dolly. With this type of towing you would not get any regen because the drive wheels (Front wheels) are not in contact with the road surface and are not turning. DOH!!!

    Dolly towing a Chevy Bolt

So here's a thought....if the battery was low on the Bolt, and you towed it in drive with the car turned on, would the battery charge from regen?

Remote Unlock Using the Chevy App--Know How to Use It

Yes, I run with my phone, so I can listen to music, but also in case something happens (I'm old, so who knows what can happen when I'm running!!) I have a way to call for help if I happen to be by myself.

Remote Unlock Using the Chevy App--Know How to Use It

I do this all the time when I go for a run. Put the key fob in the car, use the remote app to lock the car (will do this even if the key is inside). Go run. When I get back, use the remote app to unlock the car. Voila, no need to carry the key with me. This is for my Focus Electric, guessing...
