    WiFi Switch in Settings/WiFi

Yeah I'm concerned about this as well. I tend to be 'electrosensitive' and never get headaches unless I'm in my Bolt Ev for too long, as for instance at a public charger. The 4G LTE is low-power microwave energy (low power at least as compared to a microwave oven). As a teenage ham radio...

    Question: Ever been ICE'd?

Since they didn't have a parking tag, the owner of the lot was going around issuing tickets and fines. I hope they got one. That's some incentive for next time.

How do you turn the radio off?

I too wish to know how to shut it off.... Mainly to shut down the WIFI hot spot, which, there is a switch to do so but it doesn't work, the wifi stays on all the time. I asked the dealership but the service advisor looked at me as if I'm crazy. I don't care to be continually microwaved, so...

    Battery Conditioning Summer

I think the 'conditioning' being referred to is the electric usage which is DISCHARGING the battery, such as when you are driving. Charging the car does not DIS-Charge the battery so therefore the figure remains at 0%.

    Question: Ever been ICE'd?

The other day I came up to a new dual ChargePoint (dual 30 ampere unit), where there was an old LEAF that had finished charging, and also a new FORD ENERGI (the ones with 15 miles of AER or whatever), WITH TWO TEENS awake in the car. - I nicely asked them if they wouldn't mind moving their car...

    Cheap Ebay Chargers 32/40 amp

These things have a cycle to them: American stuff, initially quite good (Like Detroit Switch and Fuse, i.e. 'Square-D) 100 years ago, lately has gotten to be suspect. If you go to the 'Big Box' stores you'll see plastered over the Square-D QO (at one time the most POPULAR breaker around...

    Maximum Level 2 Charge Rate

Hi - Yeah I've had this question myself as the BOLT ev was listed in the advertising literature as 32 amperes, 7.2 kw. The GEN 1 VOLT and ELR were limited to 15 amperes, and apparently a hard 3.3 kw, since if you came in with more than 220 volts (e.g.: 240) the current would throttle down from...

    Air Conditioning

NO on the BOLT ev that is not correct. The display USUALLY instantly changes EXCEPT when it is very hot - I've noticed this also in my ELR that the AC won't go off when it is 90 degrees or hotter.... The thing stays on even though you've thought you've turned it off. Not sure if this also...

299 miles after 110v charging today

Hummmm, I've never noticed the slightest problem with the Range indicator - it obviously showing a 'range of ranges'. I have noticed the estimated time for charging varies as to the LAST TIME you charged - I don't know why they do that as the VOLT and ELR used to give estimated 8 amp, 12 amp...

Amazing low cost to run an EV

OH MAN you are getting PASNY POWER (Power Authority of the State of NY). In Lewiston, where the big ROBERT MOSES plant is (Niagara Falls), they have National Grid as the utility and pay 10 cents/kwh plus $18 billing (17 + 1 tax). You pay 4 cents (or 6 if you are bad)/kwh, and $4.50...

Amazing low cost to run an EV

Well GETOFFYOURGAS has the same utility I do (National Grid), but pays more than I do since he has opted for wind mill powered electricity. At my end of NY State, I pay a marginal cost of 10 cents/kwh (including all delivery, fees, and taxes), or should I say that is what I WOULD pay since I...

    Extending battery life

I've driven my 2017 27,000 miles and haven't noticed any decrease in range as of yet, and I often charge to 100%. That is what is great about GM products... You get a pretty good battery with them. I'd be interested in hearing from ANYONE who has noticed any loss so far under any...

    1st time charging: partial failure

I thought the '$1000 - 30% credit' was only retroactive to 2017 ONLY. By coincidence I bought TWO wallboxes that year, one 16 ampere unit for $200 and another 32 ampere unit for $289. So, I UNEXPECTEDLY got a tax credit for those when I did my taxes 4/15/18. But I thought anyone buying in...

    1st time charging: partial failure

Hehe, first question to ask is "Does the house have 240 volts period"? There are still homes in Buffalo , New York and even the first ring suburbs that still only have 30 amp 120 volt (3.6 kw tops) electric services. A few have 60 ampere 120 volt services - at least you can charge at 12...

"High Voltage Charging System" message after repair

You get this in the VOLT when the glycol sensor doesn't work, or the battery radiator glycol level is low due to a leak. IN the BOLT ev, there is a tell-tale drain plug at the very bottom of the battery to open and see if any glycol drips out. If its dry so far so good, if a lot of Glycol...

    Question: Ever been ICE'd?

Uh huh, yeah I did just that - then your 'rep' wanted to know all kinds of personal information about me, and I finally said, "Hey, do you want to take the report of the busted station or not?", and he said he must have all this info to file a report. So there's one practical thing you can...

    Community Question

I bought the first Schneider Electric wallbox in the entire northeast. 2 big problems. 1). wOULDN't work with a tesla roadster until i desensitized the 5 ma ground fault back to 20 ma. like every body else has their wallboxes set to. 2). Even though "UL Recognized", the thing overheated when...

    Question: Ever been ICE'd?

One universal problem with ChargePoints is they never have long enough cords. They are so worried about their spring retractors that they don't bother to have cords long enough to reach several spaces. That's just poor layout. They should be located such that there are at least 2 spaces free...

    Question: Ever been ICE'd?

The big problem I have with ChargePoint is that their public 30 ampere wallboxes are so junky. Usually one of the 2 j1772's won't release, or the access card won't work. Of course I'm grateful for the charging facility being there, but it is not of much use when planning a trip if I can't be...

Level 1 Charging With A Generator

Only thing I Can add to the discussion, is sometimes small generators, as well as the cheaper inverter units - have rather ratty (non-sinusoidal) Outputs, and that the 2 upconverters in the car charger may not be able to deal with the spikes that may result from the high frequency (above hearing...
