    Used 2017 Bolt with 115,000 miles-need advice

Make sure it has a DC fast charge capability since you would have to go to EA to charge. Open the charge port door and look for an orange flap. It it's not there, the car does not have DC fast charging capability.

Severe "chatter" in steering wheel on 2017 Bolt EV

If it is noise that occurs while driving and not which stationary, then it may be simple tie-rod end. I had a bothersome noise about 3 years ago that the dealer said was in the rack and pinion steering. (Some 2017's apparently had that problem.) The dealer replaced the rack and pinion in ours...

Rattle from steering column area on rough roads?

We have had this annoying steering noise for several months and the dealer seems incapable of finding the source of the noise. It's a 2017 Bolt so it's out of warranty. We took it in last month and they replaced the steering gear and I was charged nearly $2600. (The parts were about $300.)...

Charge: As soon as possible, or as late as possible?

This is an interesting and useful discussion. My wife's Bolt is used mostly for in town driving, where she (or I sometimes) drives it in the L mode which maximizes the regeneration in slowing or stopping. The regeneration is effectively a very short charge. Can one assume that this normal...

    Cheap Ebay Chargers 32/40 amp

I have a question about a TeslaTap. We have a Chevy Bolt, and would like to visit a town which is about 180 miles away, which is in range with a full charge. To use the TeslaTap at a public charging station, is it correct to assume that I will need an app to pay for the charging? In this...

How much heat is normal with level 2 charging

We bought our 2017 Bolt at the end of last year, and only used the level 1 charging until about a month ago. I then had an electrician installl a 240 volt circuit and a Clipper Creek charger in our garage. I have charging set for hilltop mode, but have done a full charge on one occasion...

This Stupid Recall Just Broke My Car

I received a notice about "The loss of propulsion High Voltage Battery" recall. Scheduled appointment and took the car in yesterday early. After about 90 minutes, they tell me it's ready, so wife and I get in car and drive away. Notice display screen and radio are not working normally. We...

Audible warning for Lane departure and blind spot warning

There is another audible alert that I like. Sometimes I put the turn signal on , maybe for a lane change, and it doesn't release automatically. After a period (30 seconds?) an audible beep starts sounding. If my wife is in the passenger's seat, it alerts after a second or two. : 8-)

    What's Your MaximumRange?

I posted this in another thread; the range at the end of overnight charging was 307 miles. I found that the hilltop reserve setting was off, so I turned it on and charged overnight. The fully charged range was 247, or 80% of what it was with the hilltop reserve setting off.

    "Full" battery levels dropping daily

I was concerned about the fact when we let our Bolt fully charge, the mileage available at the end of charging was 307 miles. (not the max mileage, but the nominal I guess I would call it) I just checked tonight and found that the hilltop reserve was off, so I set it to on, so that should...

    3 weeks in, My review

I occasionally drive my wife's BOLT, and I find that I can take trips through town, with 10 to 15 traffic lights, and by using the paddle, never use the foot brake. Like a previous poster, I do worry a bit that I will get in my Honda CRV, and be trying to use a paddle that's not there.

    "Full" battery levels dropping daily

My wife drives a Bolt that we purchased at the end of 2017. (She lets me drive it if I'm good.) We were not fully charging the battery as I was concerned about overcharging it. Then I read that the charging system is set up to only charge the battery to about 80% of the battery designed...
