    Regen question

Certainly one way of looking at it. Some drivers insist on driving full speed until the last moment; some of us like to coast up to a red light. Coasting regen's all the way.

    Regen question

There really is no delay. When my foot comes off the accelerator, the car starts slowing down rather like a car with an automatic tranny or my manual shift with the car still in gear. But the slowdown is not nearly as aggressive as L mode. i drove manual shift for most of the past 50 years and...

    Regen question

I see a lot of owners prefer one pedal mode and seem to think it provides more regen. I can't stand the way the car drives in L, so keep it in drive and use the brake pedal as I always have. Since the brake pedal ALSO causes regen,, how can it be less effective than one pedal mode or the regen...

    Bluetooth name of car

Is there a way to change the car's name from myChevrolet to something unique? My phone shows there Bluetooth connections, all named myChevrolet, from different rentals. it is easy, if obscure, to change the name of my phone from SCH...... to bobs phone. It should be possible to change the car's...

    Level 2 charger

I am not sure how the Adapter A - NEMA 14-XX plug to NEMA L6-20 receptacle helps, as the L6-20 is twist-lock. The 120 v socket one needs is NEMA 5-15. I think I would start with a pre-made a/c extension cord with 10 or 12 gauge wire, cut off the plug and wire to a 14-50 plug. If I read you...

    Level 2 charger

It would have been great if they had equipped it with replaceable plugs as Tesla does, or at least a 240 v plug and provide a pigtail for 120. One thing I have not found is the actual wiring for the four contacts of, say, a Nema 14-50 to the three pins of the 120 v plug. I should be able to...

    Level 2 charger

Thank you for those links. They did not show up in the search I did. My caution relates to the warning here: http://evseupgrade.com/?main_page=faq_info&fcPath=4&faqs_id=24 I do understand that they are not specifically referring to the EVSE Chevrolet ships.

    Level 2 charger

Slightly off topic question: I read on another website that the US stock EVSE can be operate safely on 240 v, with a proper plug adapter, delivering 12 amp at 240 v for double the charge rate (not Level 2, but faster than 120 v). That makes sense to me, BUT the nameplate only says 120 v. That...

    Cost of charging?

Thanks. I am not sure why it would be more efficient, but I have not seen any technical discussion of the process. I see lots of explanations of charging rates, but nothing about the AC/DC converter process nor the issues of cell charge balance. As a person with an EE degree (albeit 48 years out...

    Cost of charging?

One of my friends has a Bolt; another a plug-in hybrid Clarity. Both have been told that a lever 2 charger costs less to use than a level 1 charger. My engineering intuition tells me that a kilowatt-hour delivered to the car costs the same at 120 v or 240 v. Am I missing something or are my...

    Improve Android Auto display

Sorry I skipped that step. I was working from memory. One change I would like is a one button way to open the front camera display when I am parking. I know it comes one when I move from R to D, but sometimes I am simply moving forward into a space and want to know where the concrete bumper is...

    Improve Android Auto display

When I first saw Android Auto on my console, it looked fuzzy. I found that there is a developer mode in AA that allows one to set the display output to 720p and 1080p. That made my display much clearer. The basic instruction is this: Open AA. Tap on the “Android Auto” text in the top left 10...

    Console Storage

Has anyone found a good way to organize the deep hole under the driver armrest? The tray is fine for a few things, but the hole is deep enough to make finding things in a fishing expedition.

    Level 2 charger

Any opinion regarding level 2 home chargers? Wirecutter.com likes the Siemens unit. Are there any good ones that are BOTH level 1 and 2? I don't want to pay for a 240v line to my carport, but a permanently mounted charger seems like a good idea. I spoke with a friend who had is charger stolen...

    MyLink App requires onstar?

Thank you all. The car is less than a month in my possession. The On Star rep I spoke with said I had to have a paid account which I do not want. I'll get the dealer when I have time next week. I am told there is one person is service who owns a Bolt and is there resident expert.

    MyLink App requires onstar?

Good. now I just need to figure out why the app is not reading the charge status and tire pressure correctly. I find the documentation on the entire system to be less than informative. How do they communicate: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, some hidden radio system?

    MyLink App requires onstar?

Am I correct in understanding that the mylink app or website is useless without an onstar account? If so, my response is UGH!

    What goes there?

Did you suggest the Chevy inflator or something (probably more reasonably priced) from another source?

    What goes there?

New Bolt owner here. Under the mat in the storage area is a foamed plastic storage thingy with a variety of compartments. Only one is in use, the towing eye. Does anyone know what the rest of the space if designed for?
