There's more to a car than sheer efficiency. At these efficiency levels, there's not much difference in them on a daily basis. Out of all the 4 cars there, the BMW is the most unique IMO. I'm no BMW fanboy...I actually am not a BMW guy at all. But I think out of all the Beemers out there...

There's about as little servicing for the BMW as there is the Bolt...particularly if you don't get the REX. All three of my friends who have i3's don't pay a penny for service. It's included. And the level of service and attention is well above what you'd get a Chevy dealer. There's...

How Much I Paid for My Bolt

Maybe you can scan the lease deal and post it here.

I understand capitalism too and the issue is it's short-sighted and myopic. They'd make a far better name for themselves if they move twice as many units at lower prices but mid-to-long term are usually not well understood or appreciated by greed driven systems.

So do you think they would give others this deal? I'm still trying to figure out how they gave you that price with no money down, no drive off....it doesn't come out to $456 for me. Not even close.

It depends if you buy or lease. If you lease, you'll pay a lot more for the Bolt than the i3. Secondly, inferior in what way? The interior of the i3 is far better quality than the Bolt IMO. I've spent a lot of time in i3's and I can say hands down it's a better product and far more...

How Much I Paid for My Bolt

It's a shame really that GM is playing these stupid games with consumers on this car. It's incredibly disingenuous of them and only the stupidly diehard GM fans who think it's somehow a good thing would condone such behavior. This is the difference between luxury brands and brands like Chevy...

I still think this car is too expensive. $4k down on a lease is outrageous and risky.

Of course there was fear and hysteria. The same mentality and hysteria with silly Iphones and cellphones where people camp out for one was in full force with the Model 3. Fear and the feeling of "losing out" even when one already has pretty much the same product in hand is a powerful force.

Why people would put down a deposit on something that doesn't really exist yet I'll never understand.

A bit dramatic. I have three friends who have i3's and I spend quite a bit of time in one of them as it's a business partner of mine. I don't see any of the issues you state on the i3. The car handles like a champ...it's nimble. It's quicker off the line and probably the same as the Bolt up...

Well it would make sense for the environment but hey who cares about that in the US government? Especially now....

BMW is actually seriously considering it. But they are a conservative company heavily ingrained in ICE tech. As are all German firms...going electric is going to cause them a huge dilemma as their bread and butter is the ICE.

Which options are worth having others not worth it.

The truth of the matter is range anxiety and fast charging options are more psychological factors than anything grounded in reality. Yes sure, some people will need fast charging and will suffer from range anxiety because they are on right side of the bell curve when it comes to miles driven...

    Lease numbers

Just my opinion but putting anything down on a lease is money thrown away. There is no recouping that if you have an unfortunate accident and the car gets totaled, etc...it's just a bad idea all around and money straight into the pockets of the dealership.

Autonomous Chevy Bolt EVs drove 9776 miles in 2016

So Bolt drivers are going to have the pleasure of seeing their cars used as taxis and rental cars? Nice.

If you can pick that up...assuming you want to buy, it's a great deal. For me leasing makes more sense as I write it off anyway but man, for the price of one Bolt lease i could add a $100 to it and lease two i3s. Lol it's ridiculous and I don't get why people are lining up trying to justify it.

Price wise the BMW is more expensive. Lease wise it is cheaper. Techwise as a package it is more impressive. The rest is up for options. I've three friends who leased i3s. They really like the cars and even though they don't have the range of the Bolt as pure EVs go, they don't need the...
