GM is a member of the alliance that requested the emissions requirements be rolled back, but I believe GM is serious about electrification. They have made substantial invesments in both the Bolt and the Volt and that tech will expand into their other models in the future.

According to the tweet announcement by someone near the Waterloo plant, production on the Bolt EV has started, and they are currently producing 9 per hour. With a little math, that works out to about 18,000 electric vehicles per year. The tweet says they are looking to increase to 30 per hour...

Seems to me like GM is just being cautious - if you remember the LEAF there was a bunch of negative press when things didn't happen quite like Nissan had said the would. The less you say, the less people can be upset. Sure, upset about lack of details, but that isn't the same as hearing one...

Extra portable charge cord is $535?? Do they mean extra because it's an additional cord, or extra as in no just portable, but super portable (like it's the size of a smartphone or something?)

The hardest part is putting all the components together into a package. LG is just one of many suppliers. Any new player to market will have to learn, like Tesla did, that building cars isn't easy

I can imagine lots of Leaf drivers trading up to a Bolt... could make for some great deals on used LEAFs soon

Car makers didn't help build out a network of gas stations, so why help with a charging network? Especially with the ease of charging an EV at home or office or anywhere on the existing electric grid.

An analyst for Kelley Blue Book predicts that Chevy will sell 30,000 to 80,000 Bolt electric vehicles in the first full model year. Other predictions have been at the 20,000 to 30,000 mark because of supplier and inside information. 80,000 is more than double the highest other prediction, but...

There's nothing about this car that isn't already set for production - it's not near as 'concepty' as the Volt concept was. Obviously the white floor mats won't make it to production (so practical!) as well as the white seats and dash. (Nissan did have very light seats in the LEAF originally)...
