Turned on heater first time. Range dropped 20 miles

Yes, the heater consumes a lot of power, at least initially. Heating all of the air blowing into the cabin takes a lot more power than heating the seat and steering wheel.

    Safety issues

On a freeway when coming to an unexpected traffic jam, flashing the hazard lights may be more noticeable to following drivers paying only marginal attention.

    Safety issues

There is an artificial noise that is generated at low (parking lot) speeds. If you have the radio off and the windows down, you should be able to hear it while driving.

    Regen question

True, but in my normal driving (in any car), I tend to coast or brake gently enough that it is obvious that foot-off-the-accelerator in L or using the regeneration button on the steering wheel slows down the car more quickly, meaning that my normal coasting or gentle braking (in D) should be in...

Charge: As soon as possible, or as late as possible?

If the replacement tires were different, they could have had higher rolling resistance, reducing economy and range.

    Wireless Charging

Try the four possible orientations* of the phone in the wireless charging pocket. The location of the wireless charging hardware on some phones may only work in some orientations. * the four possible orientations: screen toward driver, right side up screen toward passenger, right side up...

Chevy free Basic APP through Onstar no longer free.

https://www.onstar.com/us/en/plans-pricing/compare-plans/ compares the various OnStar plans. It looks like the only OnStar services that do not require a paid OnStar plan are the following: Vehicle Diagnostics* Marketplace* Smart Driver* Dealer Maintenance Notification* In-Vehicle App Access*...

First Use of JDapter Stub for Tesla Destination Charger to Chevy Bolt

Tesla SuperChargers have a tendency to be full, because so many Teslas have free (or free up to a limit) SuperCharging, so their owners tend to use them for the free charging whether or not they need the charge at the time. Until SuperChargers get to the point where there is spare unused...

California Lags in DC Fast-Charging Station Density for Electric Vehicles

As an aside, 24 kW "fast" DC chargers are not very desirable on road trip corridors, since that gives about a 1.5:1 ratio of highway driving to charging time. 50 kW would give about 3:1, while Tesla drivers may be able to get 120 kW from Tesla SuperChargers for up to a 7.5:1 ratio. But note...

    Aeroshutter

Perhaps those shutters only close at high speeds, so that it is difficult to see them closed unless you mount a camera to your car and aim it to see where the shutters are?

EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

However, it was true that the EVgo's old pricing and policies were somewhat obnoxious compared to the current pricing and policies.

Ridiculous Process to Replace Key Fob

It says that you need two recognized fobs, presumably to prevent a valet or someone borrowing the car from adding another fob too easily.

EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

Recently used an EVgo 50kW charger at Vacaville outlets. However, the first session got an error and stopped charging after about 14 minutes (notified by app). I restarted it, and it gave another error after about 7 minutes. Then I left because I wanted to go somewhere. Total charge was 15.4...

    Question: Ever been ICE'd?

Looking at the routes where I may be most likely to want to use fast charging, I see that ChargePoint chargers are mostly 24 kW. For comparison, on those routes where EVgo chargers are present, they tend to be more numerous and 60kW. 24kW "fast" charging would mean a driving:charging time...
