Re: 2022 Bolt EUV Range - is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. To prove it to yourself, try taking a longer trip at 55mph (in the right lane!), and maybe even follow a truck. You'll be amazed. Just some hypermiling tricks. Oh, and do keep the tires properly inflated and maybe bump the pressure up a few psi. Yes, come Springtime and turning off...

Re: What can I do?

kentever1, looks as though you successfully planned ahead for charging your new car! Associated with buying a new car: when I approached two local Chevy dealers asking if I can order a Bolt/EUV now in the configuration I would like (without many of the add-ons that cars on the lots seem to have), fo...

Re: 2022 Bolt EUV Range - is this normal?

Good that you're charging to 80%. Low temperatures and running the heater in the car matter. Try using heated seat and do slow down - 75mph is really significant!

If you're a AAA member (at least in Northern California CSAA territory) you can sign up through AAA and get the EVgo monthly membership fees and session fees waived.

Re: Melted 240 outlet

240vac in the North American split-phase system means that each 'leg' is 120vac and the two together form 240vac. Each leg has its own circuit breaker, which carries the full rated current. They are usually ganged and mounted together in the circuit breaker panel, so one flip opens/closes both legs....

Re: Melted 240 outlet

Bentleytn, in your PM to me you responded that the outlet was a NEMA 14-50 (!), that the circuit has two 35A circuit breakers, and you mention that the (portable?) Nissan Leaf EVSE is rated for 30A. Sounds to me as though that EVSE has a NEMA 14-50 plug on it, which would be proper for a 30A draw. H...

Re: Off grid charging my 2020 Bolt

Presumably, your off-grid system is charging a fairly robust battery bank: is it lead-acid or some lithium flavor? What output do you have from that BMS; i.e., is there a signal available you could use to energize/de-energize a contactor? What percentage of your PV power output goes to the 240vac 10...

Re: Need tips on traveling from Los Angeles to SF

Even though travel during this Thanksgiving period should be seriously curtailed, I would avoid travel before and after Thanksgiving as charging station availability may be iffy.

Re: Reoccuring Rodent Damage

... this wasn't discussed when the Bolt was presented as environmentally friendly!

We have good luck with a barn cat which adopted us and lives both outside and in the garage with its own cat door. Often leaves us 'presents' (with long tails) at the doorstep.
