Finally got the chance to use EA on I-5 in CA between SJ-LA. The over all system is improving, though there is room for improvement, mainly in operational reliability. Some observed problems: some stations put out only 15kw while the next one can go over 50kw, most touch screen exposed to hot sun ar...
Best to keep the big DC line short and run the higher voltage 120vac long. Also mind the max wattage and size the DC cable accordingly. Has any one found a way to keep the Bolt on for longer than 90-minute ?
we have a 2017 LT+DCFC and another 2017 Premier, also a 2016 Tesla 90D. The DCFC is a must in my opinion. One Bolt is approaching 90Kmiles and the other in the 80Kmiles. It's too bad there is no pre-owned Bolt for sale currently, awesome deals could be had. The Tesla is great for long distance trave...
.... I know there has been discussion here with some maintaining that kWh is independent of speed, but I'm quite certain it's not. The faster you go, the more current is drawn from the battery and, due to the internal ESR of the battery, the more energy is converted to heat inside the battery and t...
while they are at it, modifying the software, they should put in the charge limit on all Bolt. It seems all the necessary hardware should be there, basically a settable Hill-Top-Limit. I sure like to set my daily charge limit to 65-70%
We have 2 Bolts and a Volt; and had lost the Volt fob at one point. After numerous unsuccessful programming attempts with used ebay fob, I ended up purchasing a virgin fob & metallic key here: https://www.gmpartsstore.com/oem-parts/gm-keyless-entry-transmitter-13529664 (search for your particula...
boy we are getting OT, but it's ok. The Bolt is definitely not ugly at all in my eyes. It's not double counting if it's done right. Eliminating gasoline increase your e-cost, and solar PV reduces that cost. In my case, I even converted the home furnace & water heater to heat-pumps. So my "p...
jack vines
FWIW, i've had a couple of professional PVl surveys done of my house and none of the installers will guarantee sufficient production for a ten-year payback. jack vines
most installer calculation only consider electrical usage. Pay-back looks much better when consider gasol...
