Driving in L uses More Energy?

My 2020 Bolt seems less Energy efficient. Despite my careful driving (I'm a former Driving Instructor), and a Technique of +53.5 (up from 34.5 when I first got the car), my average mpkW went DOWN from 4.9 (high was 6) to 4.3. And, not once, did I see the green bar indicating excess energy. How...

Re: Extension cord use for 2020 Bolt

Apologies. I lost access for some reason. And, after some back and forth Emails with admin, finally got back on track. I fully charged my 2020 Premiere using the heavy duty extension cord w/o a problem (though, it was at 8 Amps. And, yesterday, I had an electrician out (to see about getting an outsi...

Re: Extension cord use for 2020 Bolt

Does the Granny setting increase charging time? Yes. The 5 amp setting will increase charging time by a factor of 2.4 vs the 12 amp setting. Where does the term "granny" come from and what is its significance? ... I have to admit that with the proliferation of Level 3 DCFC chargers now av...

Re: How does ChargePoint work, and any idea as to why this happened?

There are times when it's important to read the terms of service. This is one of those times. This is from the ChargePoint Terms of Service page: https://na.chargepoint.com/terms_web/233 ... I know it seems nonsensical. But ChargePoint started with a RFID/App based system primarily with L2 stations...

Re: Love my Bolt...HATE the seat!

I love my new 2019 Kinetic Blue Bolt LT! It's a wonder of engineering. I am finally doing my part for the planet. However, I have come to hate the driver's seat... Amen, brother! I too really like my 2020 Nightfall Grey Bolt Premier (though, not a color I would have chosen in buying a new car). But...

Re: Extension cord use for 2020 Bolt

A 110v 15AMP cord will work using the home wall socket. Just get a good contractor grade cord, not some cheap $15 one. Set the car to 12amps (which is 80% of 15amps, the safety rating), or the 8amp setting and that will work. The 8amp setting especially in older homes that could have marginal wirin...

How does ChargePoint work, and any idea as to why this happened?

Hello All, Even though I'm a new EV owner, I have been involved with different Forums since 2006. So, I did do a search before making this post. (apologies if it was somewhere else) Now, I did make a post in the ChargePoint thread, http://www.mychevybolt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6905&p...

Re: Hello from ChargePoint!

Thanks for the welcome everyone! ...stations are owned and maintained by the hosts. The business owners set the pricing their stations, and often the business owners provide charging for free or at a reduced cost because they want to attract customers and employees to their locations... Well, the o...

Re: Does Opening the Drivers Door Stop the Charging Process + Can One Sit in the Car While Charging?

Of course you can sit in the car while charging. And have heat or A/C on while doing so with the car "idling" in P...all while charging. As for not being to get charging again...could be anything. There have been the odd inexplicable times when it seems charging stopped for me. Have you s...
