Re: Battery Degradation with high mile usage

Stop DCFC at 80% and top off to 100% at L1 or L2 at home.

Usually I go from about 28% to 80% at DCFC, drive down some then go to 93% with L2 at home.

The lowest I have gone before L2 charging at home is 5%.

I hypermiled on the way home to keep it from going lower.

Those poor orphaned souls. Harmed needlessly by GM's original marketing of the Bolt EV as "less than $30,000"

Re: Battery Degradation with high mile usage

Many horror stories are told by the first-adopters of the Nissan Leaf and its battery degradation. GM learned much from its release of the Spark EV, the Chevy Volt and now the Chevy Bolt EV/EUV. My opinion, FWIW, is that your plan to use two L2 chargers, is the best way to do it for battery health. ...

Re: 2017 Aftermarket DCFC

I am sorry you have decided to repeat all of your same claims as before. So, I will repeat my responses: In January, 2017, the Chevy Bolt EV was introduced as the ONLY car (other than a Tesla) with an EV driving range in excess of 200 miles per charge. Before that; most EVs drove in the 80-100 mile ...

Just for giggles, does the 22 Niro EV offer the DCFC as an "option" or do all of them include it as a necessary feature to a modern day EV?

Re: Aftermarket DC fast charge options

Lack of an DCFC and not affirmatively explaining its absence is criminal!

Modern Day EVGo and Electrify America

Now that I am driving Uber full-time again, I notice: 1) Many EVGo’s here in SoCal have been modified to put a 3rd charger cord and plug for Teslas; and 2) all sorts of Electrify Americas have popped up to be convenient for my random Uber long range late night charging needs. The EA $4 monthly fee i...

Re: Installing a AC120V pure sine wave inverter.

They say turn on, switch to Neutral, put brake on, exit thru passenger door

I have not tried it yet

I would also turn off lights, fan and defrost

Re: Installing a AC120V pure sine wave inverter.

Not a good idea to run the required thickness of wires to hold those amps that long.
I have the EVExtend.com system installed in my Bolt EV but obviously not with the inverter attached during driving.

Re: 2017 Aftermarket DCFC

The 230 mile EV can go much further on a charge than all of those other EVs I mentioned. I'm not clear that having 230 miles of range makes it "such an important feature". Why is it so much more important than on 62 to 151 mile range EVs? Many EV drivers have another car with either DC FC...
