Re: RECALL

So, GM is up to something..........let's hope it is FINALLY new battery packs for everyone affected. Yes, GM is working on this but from what I've read they are going to replace defective modules. I don't know how they know which modules are defective (maybe they can trace modules by date and they ...

Re: 2022 Bolt Owner Questions

I don't know for sure about the 2022 model but all other years have a setting where you can limit charge level. Look in the charging menu....it's probably buried in there somewhere. Set it for 80-90% and you won't have to worry about when you plug in, etc. Note: the setting is % battery, not miles. ...

Re: 2022 Bolt Owner Questions

You're not driving the car enough to get a good data set for the guess-o-meter. After all, it's just an estimate. Efficiency is not so good for any EV when you start driving because it takes a lot of energy to get the car up to speed. A 5 mile drive will have lower efficiency, so your estimated rang...

Re: Dead Car, Dead 12V Battery

After sitting parked for a few hours, starter battery still reading almost 12.5v. When I plug in to charge (L2), reads 13.5. All good (for now at least), right? Sounds like it's ok now. FWIW I purchased one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Palumma-Charger-Adapter-Display-Battery/dp/B0773BYS6P/ref=s...

Re: Dead Car, Dead 12V Battery

Almost same issue here: Installing car seat covers yesterday AM, which involved removing and reinstalling rear seat pad, which exposed an apparent electrical device and a bit of wiring. Then at lunchtime, the car was completely dead. 12v starter battery showing about 4 volts. I looked at the electr...

Re: Main USB ports (connected to main screen) Failure

I suspect this is a very specific Chevy thing and the dealer might be your best bet. I would try to reset the system (home +fastforward) and if that didn't work, disconnect the negative terminal of the 12V battery for a few seconds, then reconnect. If none of that works....dealer time. Edit: You mig...

Re: RECALL

Apologies if this has been discussed already. Might it be possible that the battery temperature sensor module fails in a way that always indicates that the battery is too cold? This would turn the battery heater on, and leave it on no matter how hot the battery got. Could this induce thermal runawa...

Re: Charging/Range

The fly in the ointment is your charging situation. At 120V and 12 amps, you'll be charging around 1kW which will give you around 4 miles added range per hour of charging. Not enough for your 146 mile round trip. You can find chargers near you (or along your commuting route) by looking at plugshare ...
